    Perfect with salad, lovely with sausages, I think i've finally found the right combination of vegetables for this quick coleslaw. I like it with quite a lot of cheese, served on some crispy lettuce. The recipe works just as well with white onions (my partner doesn't like red onion) and keeps well in the fridge for a few days.

    I love lentil soup and tomatoes and chunky veg, so experimented until I found a good combo! Cheap and easy to make, and very adaptable. I don't like to use salt in cooking, but I think this needs a little, unless you're using other herbs and spices.

    A Scottish desert traditionally made with cream, oats and whiskey. My recipe is alcohol free, but alternatively you can substitute the vanilla for 2 tablespoons of whiskey. This recipe makes quite a large portion, but a great way to make it serve more people is to layer with vanilla ice cream in the glass.

    Adapted from a recipe by Edith Bowman on BBC radio 1. Relatively cheap and VERY EASY to make. Delicious too :) Keep refrigerated after it is made. I turned these into Easter cakes this year by spooning the mixture into cake cases and sticking a mini chocolate egg in the centre of each one :)
