I developed this easy recipe while suffering from a terrible cold this winter. I started making it for my friends while they were sick, and it really helped their colds and it tasted fantastic. Try it out next time you're sick, or have it anytime.

    Recipe #494777

This is not an actual pink lemonade. This looks like pink lemonade and it tastes very strong with citrus and berry notes. It's refreshing and it does the trick when you just want one or two drinks to get a nice buzz going.

    Recipe #413740

This for me is the ultimate in comfort food. My grandma who is half German used to make this when I was little in Michigan. When it was cold and yucky outside, this warmed everything up. I'm posting it as close to how she made it as possible. It's not my usual style of cooking, but it's so good. It's a carb fest, but once and a while it's worth it!

    Recipe #268721

This is one of my old favorites. It's a nice change from the norm. It's kinda sweet, but I add lime to cut it a bit. Beautiful blue color.

    Recipe #263759

I roasted some duck last night with a blackberry wine marinade and glaze. I went down to the Organic market and picked up some yams, acorn squash and turnips. I decided to add bacon and mushrooms and it turned out SO good! Goes great on a chilly Autumn day as a savory rich side dish.

    Recipe #263317

This is a great drink for the holidays. I was just in Michigan and we had some dark spiced rum and sparkling apple cider at my parents house so I threw this drink together and it's pretty darn good if I say so myself.

    Recipe #262629

This is my friend from NOLA's creation. It's better than some of the other versions' flavor wise, in my humble opinion.

    Recipe #259690

This is my own creation. I had a couple bags of Community Coffee and decided to create a drink. I was inspired by the Spanish coffee, and wanted to go with a rum base due to the fact that "Creole" style in general is very prevalent in the caribbean. And seeing that New Orleans is very Creole in of itself and has many wide influences from the Caribbean, I figured this recipe would come close authentic wise. Plus is DELICIOUS!

    Recipe #257795

This burger does not need chips or fries. This burger will smack the hang over out of just about anyone. It's a personal spin on the cross-country burger that they used to make where I worked in Portland. This is spicy meat fans favorite! It's not as complicated as it looks, and it's WORTH it if you're not watching your waist line.

    Recipe #252435

This version is VERY authentic. I'm talking the neighborhood poboy shops, not the fancy restaurants or the tourist traps in the Quarter. If you've ever been to Johnny's on St Louis in the French Quarter (which is NOT a tourist trap, though tourists and locals a like are always packing the place), this will take you back there babe! Whenever I really get home-sick (even though I was raised in MI, NOLA feels more like home)- I like to make these. The bread is KEY tho, you just can't get the same texture as down there anywhere else- but I try to get as close as possible. You want the bread to be crusty on the outside but soft with just a little tiny bit of chewiness when you bite down into it. The lettuce, pickle, mayo and tomato is what is called "dressed". You may add cheese or hot sauce. It's messy, but SO good!! Cook time does not include time it takes to make/cook roast beef.

    Recipe #251407

I didn't find any recipes on here that completely tickled my fancy! I used to watch the kitchen staff make the olive dressing and make the sandwiches where I worked on Decatur. We were two blocks from Central Grocery and I knew people who worked in the kitchen there also. SO I would say that this recipe, after looking online and giving credit where it's due to NolaCuisine.com and gumbopages.com (to remind me what HAD to go in, and what didn't belong)- I've devised a recipe that's as close as possible to what's the REAL deal! Prep time does not include 2-3 days store time for olive salad.

    Recipe #250865

This is a sweeter berry version of the "black and tan". Goes great after a nice meal. You can put more or less frambois in depending on your preference.

    Recipe #250338

Used to eat these every Saturday and Sunday morning when I waited tables during brunch in Uptown New Orleans. They go great with breakfast, brunch or any meal really. delicious!

    Recipe #250155

I wouldn't advise anyone to actually drink this stuff on a regular basis due to how potent it is. It's a rather popular drink from a very popular bar in the French Quarter. This is my version of course, not the original recipe (I might get death threats for giving out the "real deal"). This is pretty darn close tho! It's fun and tastes pretty good. Another name for this drink is "a bad idea" which it can be if you drink more than a couple.

    Recipe #250068

This is the way I did every morning I came into work with a hangover during Mardi Gras. I'd get to work early and have the chef whip me up one of these and I was ready to take on the 12 hour shift ahead of me. REALLY delicious!

    Recipe #249941

This is comfort food for me. My grandparents in Michigan had two yellow delicious and two red delicious apple trees in their back yard. Along with their apple sauce, apple butter and the zillions of apple pies grandma made- this was my all time favorite apple dish. It's easy and oh so good, especially if you have tons of apples to get rid of.

    Recipe #249560

This is my favorite Meuniere sauce recipe. You saw many a different variation of this sauce paired with different fish and sometimes even steak down in New Orleans. It's a variation of the basic brown butter sauce, but done in a french/creole fashion. Very simple and delicious! You can leave out the pecans if they don't tickle your fancy, it's just as good.

    Recipe #249558

I'm tired of spending so much money on bagged salads. I like the convenience and all, but it doesn't take THAT long to put salad together ahead of time. I like this mix because it's basic, and I can add other vegetables later.

    Recipe #247191

I was wanting a vegan version of antipasta salad, and dabbled a bit to come up with this. I need sides so when my vegan friends come over they have good choices to choose from that are delicious!

    Recipe #247164

I went to the store to get champange for another recipe and decided to pick up some pink champagne and guava juice. Made a whole new cocktail, and totally enjoyed it!
