Oh this is soooo heavenly tasting! I found this one on a recipe book as I was searching for a nice kick to give to my toasts. The recipe appears as it is on the book but I substituted the ricotta for cream cheese with a bit of sugar and milk for smoothness.
I got this recipe from a Kitchenaid cookbook. It is very very good. This is also the first bread I've ever made!!!!
I added couple more things to the recipe; for example I added garlic powder and I also added pressed garlic into the butter along with some italian herb blend.
The recipe is posted as it is in the book.
Since it yields two loaves, I froze 1.5 of it.
After so much trial and error I gave up trying to make this recipe just like Gma's. This is the one I use. I try to keep it as "low-fat" possible by not adding bacon or sausage like other recipes call for.
Very healthy and tasty recipe. I wanted to stuff chicken breasts but didn't have some of the ingredients for the recipes posted here in RZ. I saved the trip to the grocery store and came up with this one.
