Sounds good for a Superbowl party. Haven't tried yet---I bought a box of old Quick Cooking magazines at a flea market and am posting the recipes I want to keep as I go through them.

    Recipe #283333

Mixes up in one bowl! Haven't tried this yet, but I'm all for easy clean-up! I bought a box of old Quick Cooking magazines at a flea market and am posting the recipes I want to keep as I go through them.

    Recipe #283330

Yummy comfort food and super easy to put together! Mix up using just one bowl. Uses frozen hash browns, cubed chicken or ham (or a combination of both), and gets a little tang from honey mustard. The honey mustard is very subtle in this recipe, so sometimes I like to add a little more than what the recipe calls for.

    Recipe #283322

I love anything glazed with Jack Daniel's, and since I buy pork loins in bulk from Sam's Club, I thought I'd try this. Recipe is from The Deen Bros. Cookbook (Paula Deen's sons, Jamie and Bobby).

    Recipe #283179

Recipe adapted from the "Help! My Apartment Has A Kitchen" cookbook. Super simple! Cooking time includes marinating time.

    Recipe #281720

Ketchup in Kung Pao Chicken? Not sure about this, but I'm going to give it a try! Recipe adapted from the "Help! My Apartment Has A Kitchen" cookbook. Love this book because the instructions go into more detail for people like college students who may not have done a lot of cooking yet.

    Recipe #281589

Cheese crackers with onion soup mix in them. From a cute book I saw in the library called, "Help! My Apartment Has A Kitchen." Cooking time includes chilling time.

    Recipe #281518

The secret to this slowly cooked pot roast is that you add no liquid to the pan. The big sweet onions cook down, and this provides all the juices you need for the beef to simmer. From "The Dinner Doctor" by Anne Byrn.

    Recipe #281509

Drizzle this glaze over pound cake, angel food cake, or vanilla ice cream! Cook time is the time for the glaze to harden. From the "What Can I Bring? Cookbook" by Anne Byrn, author of "The Cake Mix Doctor."

    Recipe #281500

From the "What Can I Bring" cookbook by Anne Byrn, author of "The Cake Mix Doctor." Uses a devil's food cake mix as the base and is then doctored up. Sounds yummy!

    Recipe #281494

Use Progresso Light Soup as the base for this, add some fresh veggies, a little pork, and some brown rice and you've got a quick and healthy meal! Recipe from Pillsbury.

    Recipe #280490

According to DH, the world's best gumbo is served at Wintzell's Oyster House in Mobile, AL, so I was really excited when I received Alabama's "Thicket" magazine with the recipe for it inside. Wintzell's has been in business since 1938, was named in Willard Scott's All-American Cookbook for the Best Oysters and Crabs, and has been featured in Southern Living Magazine. I'll probably do a mixture of shrimp and oysters for the gumbo instead of using just oysters. If you're ever near Mobile, AL, Wintzell's is not to be missed!

    Recipe #280316

I'm drawn to any recipe with pesto in it! There's pesto in the crab cakes and in the sauce. You can use real or imitation crabmeat (surimi) in these. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, Italian plum tomato slices, or julienned sun-dried tomatoes if desired. This recipe is from the 1998 Pillsbury Bake-Off.

    Recipe #280311

I love the classic Monte Cristo that Bennigan's serves with red raspberry preserves for dipping; but sadly, our Bennigan's recently closed. This is a variation from the 2002 Pillsbury Bake-Off using Grands buttermilk biscuits and baked instead of fried.

    Recipe #279431

I've never been a fan of instant mashed potatoes and didn't think I'd ever taste any that are better than homemade---until I made these! Save yourself the time and try them!

    Recipe #278886

Skip this if you're watching your calories and fat---prepared mac 'n cheese, bacon, mozzarella and ground beef. This recipe is from The Crow's Nest at Buckeye Lake in Millersport, Ohio.

    Recipe #275533

These sound like they're quick and easy appetizers! From The White House on High Street Bed & Breakfast on Long Island, NY

    Recipe #275476

Another recipe from "The Church Supper Cookbook." Credited to Mrs. L. Bouchard, St. Pauls Church, Lancaster, NH.

    Recipe #272731

From the 1972 Decatur Junior League cookbook, "Cotton Country." Book says they will keep for ages in an airtight tin. Planning on making these for Christmas.

    Recipe #272727

When I read this recipe to my DH he was practically drooling! Uses smoked Gouda and smoked ham. Can't wait to try! I'd never heard of cellentani pasta, but discovered it resembles a corkscrew, so I'll probably sub some rotini or fusilli. From Southern Living and credited to Heather Markowski of Rochester, NY.
