I made this using leftovers from Recipe #336075 . It was delicious!

    Recipe #459320

This is from the June 2011 edition of "Recipes +" magazine. They are so yum! I made them for a party, so I cut each roll in half before I tied them, to make them more finger food size. Also, i used regular soy sauce (as the recipe called for) but I think they would have a better colour if light soy saucewas used. I've posted the light soy sauce in the recipe, but either will work fine! I plan to make these as a lunch box filler.

    Recipe #459258

I made these to use up some leftover pastry, and some leftover taco mince. They were really good!

    Recipe #459257

This is from "Recipes +" magazine. It's a quick, simple, economical version of pastitsio, and is a definate kid pleaser!

This recipe comes from Madagascar, and was posted for ZWT7. It also works well in the slow cooker, takes around 4 hours on high, then shred it and bake it. It goes perfectly in Shredded Beef Wraps ( Recipe #460264 ), with Honey Mustard Mayonnaise ( Recipe #460263 ). I also think it could be tasty if you added some flour to the leftover liquid to make a gravy, and serve the beef and gravy with mashed potatoes...I had the thought when I was cooing it tonight..think it would be good winter comfort food!

This sauce is from Madagascar, and was posted for ZWT7 - Africa. It is a delicious spicy sauce, which is simple to make. I used it as a marinade for chicken breast fillets, and cooked them on the grill plate. I also used a little extra on the side. It went perfectly with the chicken, and I think it would team well with most meats, firm fish, even prawns..the possibilities are endless!

Posted for ZWT7 Whether or not the Swahili and other African peoples of the Eastern African coast traditionally ate oysters does not seem to be well documented. There are very few recipes for oysters in African cookbooks, and those that there are come from Western Africa. Thus, it seems possible that Oysters Mombasa originated among expatriates in Africa during the era of British colonialism in Kenya. Mombasa, an island-port city on the Indian ocean, served as the gateway to the "white highlands" and "Happy Valley" of Kenya for European settlers arriving by ship. It's easy to imagine jazz-age European elites eating oysters like this in Mombasa's hotels and restaurants. To this day, Kenyan oysters are featured on the menus of restaurants and resorts, mostly frequented by tourists, along the Kenyan coast.

Posted for ZWT7. The recipe I found used yellow food dye, but I thought colouring it with a little turmeric would be more authentic.

This recipe was posted for ZWT7, before I had a chance to cook it myself. The original recipe called for water, and just a pinch of spice. Based on other people's reviews, I altered it slightly when I made the rice tonight for our dinner, and I have adjusted the recipe accordingly. thankyou to everyone who has contributed to improving this recipe, my family loved it! :)
