I think I saw this recipe on Food Network from Alton Brown. It is so easy that once you make it the first time, you'll remember how to make it without the recipe from then on. Enjoy!

This salad can be served as a main dish--it has a combination of grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds to provide complete proteins--or as a side dish. It is a versatile dish, too. You could easily swap out various ingredients to adjust it to your taste. For example, you could swap oranges for limes, rice for wheat berries, lentils for beans, parsley for cilantro, or roasted sweet potatoes for beets.

I love tasty food, especially when it can be made quickly and be made from ingredients I usually have on hand. I've cooked many recipes for dal over the years, eaten many varieties of dal dishes out at restaurants, and I'm always looking for the next best dal recipe that I can make at home. This is it!

I love macaroni and cheese. It's homey, comforting, delicious, and versatile. I love this mac and cheese recipe because in addition to being cream and soul-satisfying as all mac and cheese should be, it is also incredibly easy to prepare and lower calorie. I have adapted the recipe from this New York Times recipe:

This dish is comforting and delicious, compliments pretty much any main course, and would also be a good dish for a brunch buffet. I made this up one evening when I needed a vegetable side dish, and it was so good I plan to continue making it for years to come! A good way to describe this dish is a healthier, more vegetable-y version of your favorite cream of celery soup in side dish form! So, tweak the recipe to adjust it to your tastes and what you have on hand, and enjoy!

Adapted from a recipe from the back of a Ritz box (I think), this version is healthier and more refreshing, without sacrificing flavor!

I love cardamom! I can't get enough of it, so I modified two other 'Zaar recipes (32204 and 97213) to satisfy my cardamom craving. Voilà, one more way to enjoy the subtle delights of cardamom.

I love Indian food flavors, especially curry leaves and cumin seeds. This recipe is a result of my endeavor to have more delicious, fulfilling, whole protein recipes at hand. Modify to fit your tastes (e.g. swap coconut milk for milk?), and enjoy!

I made this up with leftover smoked salmon. Feel free to throw in leftovers (other vegetables, other meats, noodles, etc.).

I begin to turn to soup when the weather outside turns a bit crisp, and I keep right on making and eating hearty, healthy, warming soups all winter long. This is an adaptable soup. Instead of the swiss chard, you could substitute any dark greens (spinach, turnip tops, radish tops, mustard greens, etc.). You could also substitute beans and/or rice for the potato; add fall veggies like sweet potatoes or squash; etc. Unless you're veggie, don't leave out the bacon. Smoked, cured pork products paired with leafy greens are one of life's simple luxuries.

Salata De Vinete, or Eggplant Salad, is a common salad in many parts of Romania. Similar salads exist throughout Eastern and Southern Europe. Often, the salad is eaten with bread at breakfast or with bread as an appetizer/part of other meals. This version is without mayo or another creamy agent--making it ideal for summer picnics.

Ciorba, Romanian "sour soup," is a delicious slightly-sour soup that often contains meat and an assortment of vegetables. The sourness can be from any number of things (lemons, borscht, vinegar, etc.) and is often mellowed by the addition of a dollop of sour cream when serving.

    Recipe #212215

This is a delicious, simple one-pot meal that is quite adaptable and forgiving. Also, it freezes and reheats nicely, so make a lot to use for lunches throughout the week.

I love all of the ingredients in this recipe on their own--and even more when they all come together to make this healthy, delicious, simple dessert.
