Three-color pasta, cubed cheese, tuna, and roasted sweet peppers blend into a spunky salad that we enjoy over 2 suppers during hot summer days. This is an excellent salad that I've served with or without cashews since sometimes I forget those. Fresh basil is essential to this recipe and we just have some fancy fresh breads and butter with it. I don't recall which of my magazines I got this from but it's favorite of mine.
A wonderful recipe for grilling a pork roast during the hot days of summer. I've made this several times and it is delicious and easy. A large pork roast will last us thru the 2nd day as well making wonderful sandwiches.
Not the usual macaroni and cheese. This recipe includes stewed tomatoes and cream of cheddar soup. My DH is not a lover of mac&cheese dinners but he really likes this recipe because of the added tomatoes. I got this from Allrecipes posted by Renee
An all time favorite of mine, I got this recipe from Allrecipes posted by Suki. It's fast and easy to make and tastes fantastic. Crusty rolls for mopping up the juices is all that's needed to finish the meal. I use lots more of the red pepper flakes to add zing and probably more feta as well since it's my favorite cheese. It's a real filling dinner for those nights when we want to eat vegetarian and DH requests this one frequently.
This is one of our all time favorite summer meals and a full recipe will usually last us two meals. It keeps very well in the refrigerator and DH says sometimes that it tastes better the next day. I have never served this to anyone who didn't love it. Taken from Woman's Day Low-Fat Meals June 1995
These cabbage rolls are a great deal of work to put together. Having said that, once or twice a year, especially for Xmas, I invest the time to make these. Once they're cooked, I've got at least 3 meals worth and they are even tastier the next day.
DH's family seem to pride themselves on their cabbage rolls however my cabbage rolls get requested more often. I got this recipe from Canadian Living's Best One-Dish Meals.
This is a very flavorful glaze for steaks that I use all the time. It only takes a few minutes to prepare I serve with corn on the cob, fresh crusty bread, bites of cheese, olives, horseradish and steak sauce. Yummy!!
Many requests for the recipe came after making these for hubby's office for Xmas. There are other similiar recipes on Zaar but none are exactly made like these are. Hubby and I could not stop eating the second batch I made until they were all gone. This is from Homemade Favorites 2004, Robin Hood pamphlet.
From the Ultimate Vegetarian Cookbook, this is one of our favorite light meals for those nights when we're just sick of eating so much meat. This one-dish recipe cooks up quick and easy and tastes great. Rice is better if made a day ahead but it works if you make it just before preparation too. It just tends to be a bit more sticky but it still tastes wonderful.
I love Macaroni & Cheese and this is my all time favorite recipe from a newspaper food section a long time ago. It's quick, it's easy and it reheats the next day fabulously. This recipe gets requested more often then any other from my very fussy 12 year old niece so it's a real winner with kids too.
This is an all time favorite meal of mine and it's so easy to make. I have not always had a grill but I've done this on an electric griddle many times and it worked just fine. I've never tried it with the dried herbs because I'm partial to fresh but I'm sure it would be just as good. The recipe comes from Canadian Living's Best One-Dish Meals.
This recipe is so good, quick and easy to make. It's been a staple in our house for many years now. I tend to add more crushed red pepper flakes then the recipe calls for just to get a little extra heat but it is a great meal just the way it is too. I got this recipe from Woman's Day Low-Fat Meals Magazine, Page 85, from May of 1995
This is our favorite scalloped potatoes recipe. Even my hubby loves this one and he doesn't like potatoes, especially scalloped. It's easy to put together and makes a wonderful side dish for any meal. My favorite part is reheating them the next day in the microwave. That's IF there's any leftovers.
