Yum! Basil and cooked asparagus are blended into a tasty pesto, then served over pasta with asparagus tips. Great served with steaks or chicken or even as a meatless main dish. I think almonds, pine nuts or walnuts would be a good addition to the pesto. From "Sunset Magazine."

    Recipe #224267

This greek-inspired wrap includes venison, onion, bacon, sour cream, spinach and feta rolled in a tortilla. Try a pita for a more authentic greek meal. From "Wild Bounty" cookbook.

    Recipe #224216

Shrimp and asparagus are grilled in a packet with a lemony dill butter, then served over pasta or rice. Great to make up packets before going camping to have a fancy meal in the woods. From Better Homes and Gardens.

    Recipe #224205

These delicious chicken breasts are stuffed with basil, garlic and parmesan cheese. Then they're grilled to perfection while basting with a lemon butter sauce. One of my favorite grilled chicken recipes. From Better Homes and Gardens.

This lemony, chicken rice soup traditionally uses eggs to thicken the broth, but to lighten it up, this version uses cream of chicken soup. Remember to use the fat-free and low-sodium variety of soup to keep it healthier. From Pampered Chef 'Good for You' Cookbook.

A light and easy, creamy crab dip with cajun seasoning, celery, garlic and bell pepper. This is great served with bagel chips or just crackers. Cook time is chill time. From Pampered Chef.

    Recipe #223652

This is my much quickened version of a pasty, put into pie form. For those who are unfamiliar with pasties, they are a pastry filled with meat, potatoes and onions, then folded into a half-circle. I live in an old mining town and these are still popular from the old days when the men would take them in their lunch boxes.

    Recipe #223558

From Sandra Lee Slow-Cooker Recipes. Chicken breast pieces are slow-cooked in a cajun alfredo sauce with tomatoes and red bell peppers, then served over pasta. ***After making this again, I do agree with the reviews that this is much too watery. I will leave the original recipe posted as-is since it is from a cookbook, but I recommend leaving out the chicken broth.

Apples, cheddar cheese and a cream cheese topping.... these bars sound delicious. I haven't made them yet, but I can't wait to try them. (Prep time is a guess). Recipe from Better Homes and Gardens.

From Pampered Chef. Ears of corn are smothered with a delicious flavored butter and grilled. Good to prepare ahead of time and take camping. The tomato-herb spread is good on breads or other vegetables too. Dried herbs could be used in place of the fresh if necessary.

Sauced steak strips are combined with green beans, mushrooms and onions, then served over egg noodles. Serve with a salad and some garlic bread for a great meal. From an Easy Everyday Cooking recipe card.

    Recipe #218005

This is a quick and easy way to save some money, just whip this up instead of buying pre-made chili sauce in the store. From an Easy Everyday Cooking recipe card.

    Recipe #218004

Rich and creamy mashed potatoes are topped with cheddar cheese and tomato slices, then baked. Instant mashed potatoes could be used, but I think making your own is the best way. From an Easy Everyday Cooking recipe card.

From an Easy Everyday Cooking recipe card. Chicken pieces are browned, then simmered in an onion and garlic sauce. Slice mushrooms and saute them with the chicken in the beginning for a different variation.

I always remember my great-gramdma making this cake, so when I was given a 3-foot long zucchini by my boyfriend's parents, I called my mom for the recipe. It put a small dent in that monster gourd! This was my first attempt at a cake from scratch and it didn't collapse, so it can't be that tough if I did it.

From and Easy Everyday Cooking recipe card. Strawberry and apple filling is covered with a crumb topping that includes oats, almonds, and more. Delicious alone or topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
