Nothing better than a good hamburger with some cheese on it. I came up with this one today for a special Dinner for my husband. I serve topped with onion strings, a salad and a chocolate milk shake. All my husbands favorite things!
Hashbrowns in your freezer....shredded, o'briens or country style.
Make your own and have them on hand at anytime. Why pay almost $3.00 for a bag of hashbrowns when you can make several bags for about the same cost as one?
From Shape Magazine: This recipe, adapted from A Real American Breakfast by Cheryl Alters Jamison and Bill Jamison (William Morrow), will give you the energy to get through even the busiest morning. Providing an extra punch of protein (along with eggs) is lean machaca, a beef filling borrowed from Mexican ranchers.
This calorie-cutting custard is creamy enough to satisfy even the PICKIEST creme brulee fans, so get ready to INDULGE! That is what Hungry Girl has to say about this recipe.......I have not tried this yet but plan to make it for a taste test before the holidays as I want to have it at a party.
A creation I came up with when I had some left over spaghetti sauce from a home made pizza and left over baked chicken. It always surprises me when I can make up something different out of everyday items.
Great fast and delish dish. Great for pot luck meals and to take to a friend who is having a hard time. I give this recipe to all my friends along with a bowl of it when they have had a rough time and need a little pick up. Great comfort food,
I looked at several recipes for brining and roasting a chicken. I did not find one that I liked but did like several parts of different recipes so I made up my own. I had never brines before and WOW what a difference. My DH was shocked as was I at how moist the chicken was.
I love these sandwiches and tried to make it a little lower in fat than normal. I am posting this because I recently had a friend call me and asked how to make these sandwiches. I thought if she didn't know there are probably others out there who do not know how to make the fabulous sandwiches.
A great freezable recipe. My DH will eat anything if it is put into a tortilla. A fast food chain has these on their menu and I make them at home. I make a full batch and then freeze for an easy to reheat meal. It is also a great way to use up left over taco meat, for another meal or snack.
Flavored sea salt is all the rage these days, but you can take advantage of your fall herb harvest, rosemary, mint, thyme, oregano and sage are ideal, and save yourself a bundle by making your own herbal salts according to the Fairmont Royal York's method.
Easy preparation is essential when entertaining guests, and this shrimp appetizer is a breeze to make for your Labor Day party. The shrimp packs in protein, the carrots offer a healthy bonus of vitamin A and the spicy dipping sauce gives an added kick.

There's still time for a summer picnic. So pack a basket and prepare some simple sandwiches like this tuna wrap. The fish packs the right amount of protein, and subbing dressing for mayo eliminates unnecessary fat.

Toasted tortilla strips add crunch to this classic Mexican soup. (Note: Create your own version of this soup by adding cooked, cubed chicken breasts, diced cucumbers, cilantro or fat-free sour cream. Just remember to calculate the points.)
This went over really well with guests. I noticed when I took it to the potluck (several hours after making it) that it tasted better then when I served it right after preparing it. This makes me think that it is a great recipe to prepare night before. Also easily converted to vegetarian.... just leave out bacon.

This looked so good....unfortunately I have not tried it yet. But now that the weather is getting warmer and it will give me a serving of fruit , so I will have an excuse to eat the ice cream.
Hope you enjoy.
