We make a bit of "tartar sauce" by chopping up gherkins quite finely and mixing it into some mayo with a tad of lemon and hot mustard to taste but the kids like a mayo and ketchup mix...experiment!     Here is a yummy Japanese salad dressing recipe from our Mum. D is a real carnivore at heart but could eat salad everyday with this dressing on it...wait he has been for the past 2 weeks! because he is staying with his mum while the rest of us are in Calgary! Goes great with any cool crisp salad greens or even steamed vegetables like Asparagus spears. May also be used for a marinade - especially for pork or poultry.
