    I created this recipe because I had some left over whole wheat spaghetti but didn't know what to do with it. Once the dish was finished, I topped it off with some freshly grated Romano cheese!

    This pie isn't only delicious but it looks wonderful, almost too good to eat. I made this a vegan pie because I don't do dairy. It takes a while to make, but its well worth the effort. I used my Easy Spelt pie crust for this pie. I included the recipe for the Apple Pie Spice and the pie crust in the directions below.

    This recipe comes out of the Hare Krishna cookbook, The Higher Taste. I took a short cut and used organic tomato sauce from a jar instead of making my own. Of course home made is best. I also baked the Kofta balls instead of frying them in butter. I am only including the recipe for the Kofta Balls. I have changed some of the ingredients to suit my tastes. I didn't add any binder to this as the mixture was moist enough without it. Traditionally these Kofta balls are put over spaghetti, but I put them over Quinoa for something a little different.

    These are tangy and sweet all at the same time. I found it necessary to use the gelatin to help thicken the lemon curd. I also cut back on the fine sugar to 8 oz. in the curd so it isn't as sweet because I used a sweet lemon for this dessert.

    I made this tonight and have to say it was one of the most delicious crusts I've ever made. It was light and fluffy. Best of all it's totally Vegan. I used a 12" non-stick pizza pan but a 15" pan would work too.

    I found this recipe on the back of the King Arthur Bread Flour bag. I changed a few of the ingredients to give this more fiber. Also I noted that this particular bread doesn't have a round top like some bread, it tends to flatten out as it bakes. It is very crunchy and nice if you warm it a little first.

    I enjoy using this recipe because I love pizza but can't eat dairy and what would a pizza be without cheese! So it was a blessing to be able to eat this dish without worrying about my cholesterol hitting the roof. The crust is lightly crunchy and very tasty.     I grew up eating this pie. My father was an avid cook and he was an excellent baker. I used to love when Christmas came round because I knew he would make this meat pie.     I found the original recipe for Haupai at Recipezaar, but decided (as I usually do) to tweak it and make it my own. All these ingredients can be found in any good health food market. I prefer the lite coconut milk as it's got fewer calories. I have made this a few times. I love how easy this recipe is to make. It is utterly delicious on a cold winter day. If you want to make this a vegan recipe you can substitute the butter for vegan margarine, the cheese for soy or almond cheese and leave out the turkey bacon or use soy bacon.
