    Catfish Cakes
    Handle

These are absolutely delicious! Another recipe from Grady Spears, they are so good you won't have any leftovers, I promise. And once you have the ingredients together, they go together very quickly. My family loves these, and my neighbors love them.

    Recipe #49034

    Chorizo con Queso
    Handle
    2 Reviews |  By P4

This is the best con Queso dip I've ever had. I got it from a great cookbook by a man named Grady Spears. I guarantee once you try this you will be a fan of his too.

    Recipe #49033

    Blender Hollandaise
    Handle
    5 Reviews |  By P4

From Marion Cunningham (Fannie Farmer). This hollandaise method is for people who believe they can't make hollandaise. It's absolutely fool-proof and I guarantee it. I love hollandaise for eggs benedict, broccoli and asparagus.

Wild Rice with Cranberries & Pecans
    Handle
    4 Reviews |  By P4

I love this dish! It is one of my favorite side dishes. It's modified from a recipe by Diane Morgan in her book, The Thanksgiving Table. It can be a side dish, or a stuffing for poultry. It is not sweet at all, but the cranberries give a nice contrast with the rest of the ingredients.

    30-Minute Pasta Sauce
    Handle
    5 Reviews |  By P4

This is my original pasta sauce. It's different than those that are simmered all day, but it's better than jarred sauce, and it's quick. You can also play around with the seasonings to suit your own taste. DO NOT - please - cut the amount of olive oil. Trust me on this. It sounds like a lot, but it's not, really, when you add all the pasta.

    Eggs in Hell
    Handle
    2 Reviews |  By P4

Great, simple brunch dish. My husband asks for it all the time, sometimes even for dinner. This is an adaptation of a recipe from M.F.K. Fisher's "How to Cook a Wolf".

    Recipe #48656

    Sugar & Spice Pumpkin Seeds
    Handle
    1 Reviews |  By P4

Great snack and gift for Christmas. You could substitute any kind of nut for the pumpkin seeds, but I think the pumpkin seeds are a little more unusual and intersting.

    Snappy Gingersnaps
    Handle
    3 Reviews |  By P4

Another wonderful recipe from Emily Luchetti. I GUARANTEE these are the best gingersnaps you will ever taste. These cookies are a staple around here at Christmas. My Pastor begs me for a batch every year. I like to make the dough and freeze in logs, the slice and bake them when I need them.

    Recipe #48654

    Select
Chiffonade of Brussels Sprouts with Bacon & Hazelnuts
    Handle
    11 Reviews |  By P4

I wish I could take credit for this recipe, but I can't - it came from a chef named Diane Morgan, who wrote The Thanksgiving Table. My husband likes Brussels sprouts so I'm always looking for new ways to serve them. This is the best way I've ever tried. Even people who don't like Brussels sprouts like them this way. Try it.

    Recipe #48537

    Select
Roasted Beet Salad with Walnuts and Goat Cheese
    Handle
    2 Reviews |  By P4

This is a terrific salad. Everything can be prepped ahead easily, then just putting everything together at the last minute. I always have this at Thanksgiving.

This is probably my favorite dessert of all time. I only ever serve it on special occasions. It's fabulous. Requires 6 6-oz. ramekins (ovenproof).

    Barley & Potato Soup

    14 Reviews |  By P4

This recipe is from a dear friend, and it has become one of my weekly comfort meals in the winter. It is absolutely delicious, and you can tweak it all you like. It is very fast to put together and almost completely fat-free. I love this soup.

    Recipe #48475

    Egg Puff

Great breakfast or brunch item. Can be made the evening before, put in the refrigerator, then put into the oven to bake the next morning. I like to serve it with sausages and biscuits on the side. Great meal for guests.

    Recipe #48474

    Select
    Tennessee Spirit Punch

This recipe came to me from a bartender friend. It is NOT for the light-weight among us! Sip with caution...I love this drink.

    Hot Faux Crab Dip

This recipe was my mothers. It actually tastes nothing like crab to me, but it is very good. My husband loves it.

    Oatmeal Molasses Bread I
    Handle
    1 Reviews |  By P4

This recipe came from a really fun cookbook, the Dairy Hollow Hill House Soup & Bread Book. It is my husband's favorite bread of all the bread I make. Perfect toasting bread, and makes great PB&J sandwiches, according to my son.

I don't particularly care for white bread, but I do like this one. Very easy to make.

    Recipe #48470

    Rosemary-Orange Marinade

This marinade is really wonderful on duck, beef and pork, but I've used it on chicken, too. I usually grill the item I marinate in this. This recipe was also taken from an old issue of Food & Wine.
