This is an excellent recipe that I happen to alternate every time I make it with different nuts, dried fruit, and flours (always works out though.) It was adapted from a recipe I saw in one of grandmother's magazines while in Poland over this past Christmas. This recipe is literally a Polish apple pie, except the dough is mixed with the apples. Hope you enjoy!!
This is from the Foodfit website. I haven't tried it but wanted to see what the nutritional facts REALLY are, i think they might be a little ahead of themselves with the nutritional facts. I will be trying this recipe anyway though, one reviewer said," It was like eating warm apple pie, I will definately try it again." ...hope its as good as she said it was!!
VERY rich and VERY tasty recipe. My mom made it up and it is close to her Polish cheesecakes(lots of eggs). It makes a lot of servings but I'm sure it could be halved (taking away or adding an egg). Eat once a year because the flavour and heaviness may last a while!!
This recipe was part of what helped me win a cooking competition at school against 7 other people. I got it out of an excellent appetizer book and continue to make it!! Excellent served with any meal. (VEGETARIANS CAN SUBSTITUTE VEGETABLE STOCK FOR CHICKEN STOCK)
