Thick, creamy, and spicy, this drink is very popular in Northern Chad(Central Africa) and is refreshing and healthy. I substituted almond milk, but you can use coconut, rice or soy milk, or use dairy milk. It's all good!

Piled high with juicy, sweet tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, and rich eggs and mayo, this sandwich is popular in Comoros. The Comoros consist of four islands and several islets in the western Indian Ocean. The Comoro Islands are located at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel between Madagascar and Africa. Recipe from Sasha Martin.

This is a small recipe producing small scones. It’s perfect for baking urges, and you’ll be eating well in less than thirty minutes. Each scone is only about three or four inches long. There’s a TON of berries in them, so don’t be put off if the dough doesn’t come together perfectly like sugar cookie dough. It’s going to be a messy and a little imperfect and that's perfectly okay. Scones originated in Scotland. Treat yourself! From Eat Run Live.

If you want to try something uniquely Russian, try a cup of nice, black tea with a spoonful of fruit jam stirred in. Tea is the national drink of Russia, while the jam is a happy bonus.

This originated in Japan, where rice is abundant(although made throughout Africa, Mexico and other countries too). Rice milk is a grain milk made by processing rice. Dark, sweet, and fresh, Blackberry Mint and Lime Fruit Leathers are the perfect summer treat. I have fond memories of blackberry pickin' in the hills of California and now here in North Carolina. I think blackberries grow everywhere! What a great way to use them! Found on Pinterest.

This is a vegetarian joloffe rice - the fresh vegetables added to the sauce can vary or be substituted with frozen mixed vegetables. This Cameroonian-style joloffe rice is made with coconut milk and in the Cameroons it is usually cooked with meat. Basmati rice, although not traditionally used, makes delicious joloffe and requires less liquid when cooking. From cdkitchen.

Finland--the country of thousands of lakes, endless forests, long winters and light summer nights, lies between Sweden and Russia. Every Thursday is pea soup day nationwide. You can use golden split peas or green split peas, it tastes good either way. I put together this soup from several different recipes.

A traditional salad, often served around Christmas. It is vegetarian and I have added options to make it vegan. Cooking time is for boiling, if roasting, the cooking time will be about an hour.

Burkina Faso, also known by its short-form name Burkina, is a landlocked country in west Africa. The tea is called Bissap a La Bonne Dame in Burkina Faso, Africa, and enjoyed everyday in the hot weather. Chilled hibiscus tea is light and refreshing. The natural floral tang is a wonderful counterpart to sweet pineapple chunks. I'm traveling the world, making vegetarian or vegan recipes from each country. Some can be especially challenging, lol.

Macedonia, officially the Republic of Macedonia, is a country located in the central Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. It is one of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, from which it declared independence in 1991. Many eastern European countries enjoy Kompot all year round. This sweet, cold drink is refreshing on a hot summer’s day and, in the winter, Bulgarian children enjoy kompot as part of the traditional Christmas celebration. Feel free to use your favorite fruit to make this recipe your own. Mint could even be added for fresh flavor. When serving, be sure to give everyone a few bits of fruit at the bottom of their glass! I put this together from 2 different recipes.
