What is a limber? It’s kind of like a popsicle, but is usually served in a small plastic cup and made with natural fruit juices. It’s very rich in flavor and texture, since often the pulp of the fruit is not removed from the mix. Tip: You’ll know a mango is ripe if it’s tender to the touch and you get the strong scent of mango when you smell it. Servings are a approximate. From Modern Mami.

This easy vegetarian smashed chickpea sandwich has all of the flavors of traditional Greek Salad, but in salad sandwich form. From Two Peas and their Pod.

    Recipe #504154

A great basic recipe! I have added more veggies to the original recipe. Try adding other veggies, like grated carrot, cooked caulifower, etc. You could also make this with quinoa instead of rice. Next time I'm going to place fried onion rings on top and add chopped garlic. Have fun in the kitchen! Adapted from Day Dream Kitchen.

    Recipe #504133

Guiltless cheesy seasoned fries topped with veggie bacon, jalapenos and scallions served with a cool low-fat buttermilk ranch on the side. So when it's cheese fries you are craving, make them yourself and you'll save hundreds of calories and have better portion control preparing it yourself. A half order at Chili's is a whopping 1260 calories and 89 grams of fat, yikes!! This recipe is a serving for two, if you want to make this into a meal, why not serve a large fresh garden salad on the side, with more ranch dressing! You'll have those carbs you crave and feel completely satisfied. Leave the skin on for added fiber, and this recipe uses a full fat cheddar so that the cheese melts beautifully, Just use less of it and it will be great. if you prefer using reduced fat cheese, Cabot and Sargento are two brands that are good to use. I have tweaked the recipe, using veggie bacon. From skinny taste.

    Recipe #504132

    Recipe #504131

Visiting my family in Colorado, we went to a place called Verns . They served their world famous Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It was so sweet and so yummy. Here is an easy version I'm pretty golly danged sure you will enjoy. This is not a light dish, but definitely a treat. Adapted from group recipes. :D

    Recipe #504125

Silky smooth, thick red pepper spread with the full taste -courtesy of tomatoes, garlic, onion, red wine vinegar and some kick with hot peppers- is at home dolloped on fried eggs, spread on toast, as a pizza sauce, or as a dip (either alone or stirred into mayonnaise or softened cream cheese). This makes about 5 cups, so you can half the recipe, make all of it and freeze some, or even double it and can it and give it as gifts or stash it all. Great to use up all those wonderful red bell peppers(and cayenne peppers) from the garden. Adapted from The Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving and posted on foodie with family.

    Recipe #504124

This is the go-to dish on super busy activity laden nights. No one gets tired of it and with a salad and smoothie you have a complete and nutritionally well-rounded meal. Scale this recipe up as needed. Adjust measurements to taste. Adapted from foodie with family.

    Recipe #504123

    Recipe #504110

This is happy food, friends. Fresh, crunchy, flavourful, and filling without being heavy, this Greek inspired salsa is full of cucumbers, fire roasted peppers, red onions, garlic stuffed kalamata olives, crumbled feta, lemon and chopped parsley. Dip with pita chips or serve as a salad alongside grilled meat or fish. Opa! I know those garlic stuffed kalamatas can be hard to find, so if you can't lay your hands on them, simply use an equal amount of pitted kalamatas and add a large clove of garlic, peeled and minced, to the recipe. From Foodie with Family.

    Recipe #504108

I'm told every household in Puerto Rico has a bottle of pique on the table. And every family has their own version. You can use any hot peppers you like, according to your heat tolerance. All measurements are adjustable to your taste. You will need 1 clean, empty glass bottle of about 12-ounce capacity with a tight fitting lid(In Puerto Rico they traditionally use rum bottles). If there is a removable plastic shaker top, that is even better! Remove the shaker top prior to filling and set aside. An empty rice wine vinegar bottle works very well.

    Recipe #504100

Did you know the cookie was actually invented in ancient Persia (now Iran) in the 7th century, A.D.? The earliest cookie-style cakes are thought to date back to 7th century Persia A.D. (now Iran), one of the first countries to cultivate sugar (luxurious cakes and pastries in large and small versions were well known in the Persian empire). According to historians, sugar originated either in the lowlands of Bengal or elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Sugar spread to Persia and then to the Eastern Mediterranean. I haven't tried this yet, but looking forward to it! From The Art of Armenian and Middle Eastern Cooking.
