A perfect recipe -- lots of veggies, combined with lamb, herbs and spices for a dish that reminds me why I love Mediterranean foods! Better yet: for all the great flavor this dish delivers -- it comes together pretty fast. I made this for my sis years ago when she came home from the hospital after having her daughter Alexis and it's been a family favorite since. From Eating Well's Rush Hour Cookbook. Serve with crusty bread and Tzatziki -- either store bought (Costco's is good!), or make your own: Peel, seed and shred a large cucumber, squeeze dry and mix with 1-2 minced garlic, dash of salt and pepper, 2 T chopped mint and 1/4 cup ( i use a bit more) plain yogurt.

Great fall side dish and wonderful served with Beef or Pork Schnitzel and Spaetzle. The tanginess of the vinegar is a perfect balance to the sweetness of the apples, with the bacon and red currant jelly adding another layer of fantastic flavors. This recipe is courtesy of Penzey's Spices magazine, submitted by Cheryl Morris.

I great dish that isn't a real quicky, but is worth the time, a great company dish. The carmalized onions take several hours, so good to make when you'll be puttering around the kitchen anyway, so you are nearby to stir them. They are definitely worth the time, a very rich tasting sweet and savory addition to the potato dish. They are SO good, and can be made up to a week ahead (kept in the fridge Got this from a magazine, but tore the page out and now don't know who to give credit too... oops.

Adapted from my mom's friend Sharon Brown's 'Scratch Dog Biscuits'. So good, i swear our dogs (and their friends) are addicted to these. Great for holiday gifts and doggie parties !

I LOVE biscotti and was so excited when a friend shared this with me years ago, and I found out how easy they are to make. (Hint: don't pay $2.00 a cookie at the coffeehouse any more!!) These are great as is, or dip the bottom edge of each cookie in melted chocolate (mmm... dark chocolate) Note: the prep time includes cooling times

This is the bean soup my mom used to make whenever we'd finished a ham -- using the ham bone makes a wonderful stock for the soup. Enjoy!

This recipe was my Gramma Collins'... passed down to my Dad...and then to me. It WAS closely guarded, until I posted it here to share with other family members. Caramel making was an annual event that we now share with our kids.

This comes from a very old (60's) cooking magazine my mom had called All Time Favorite Recipes. This was a favorite of ours, and we still talk about this dressing all these years later !! The dressing is good on any salad, Enjoy!

    Recipe #400294

My mom served this as an appetizer at special occassion & company dinners when I was growing up. I have tried for many years to find the recipe online, with no success. And then one day my mom came across the recipe and sent it to me. I'm posting to keep from losing it for another 25 years... Might sound unusual -- and it is.. .but so delicious. VERY light, creamy, slightly lemony with subtle earth/nut flavors and unexpected texture of the minced almonds. It was a dish everyone always raved about...

No description... posted twice and RZ dropped my whole recipe..so this is the scaled down version... :-(

This is a recipe that I created to mimic an old favorite of mine at Pasta Bravo. A great combination of penne (or rigatoni, spirals) tomato, cheeses all baked to perfection...creamy on the inside with a crispy outside crust. This goes together really quickly, cooks in under 30 minutes and is totally company worthy. Delicious served with a salad and some bread sticks or baguette. Easily adaptable for a yummy veggie-pasta bake too!

I've hunted for years to find a Garlic Sauce like the one that used to be served in my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant with Shawarma. I combined a couple different recipes and EUREKA!! If you love a good Garlic Sauce, be warned.. you may also be eating this on EVERYTHING until it is gone !!

    Recipe #355522

Great as a morning snack, with coffee -- or after dinner with a dessert wine. Shared by a friend many years ago, and has been a treat that I make (and share) every year at the holidays...but it's great any time! Yield is approximate, depending on size of loaf and width of biscottis.

Thanks to Buster for sharing this recipe. This stuff is so easy and a guaranteed hit!! It sounds like a lot of jalapenos, but the peppers in a jar are really not very hot, and once they get in with the other ingredients, it really is not even hot. You can modify the heat by choosing the right kind of salsa for your taste. Serve with tortilla chips and/or veggies. Prep time is about 10 minutes, but I've included extra for chilling.

    Recipe #349328

Depending on if there will children eating this, I sometimes omit the water chestnuts and green onions. Good just with bacon wrapped steak, too!! Note: IIf you don't want to use bourbon, you could sub fruit juice (apple, pineapple, etc) in the sauce.

    Recipe #345170

Great served with a tossed salad. A real guy pleaser if you serve it with a stein of cold beer! NOTE: Times shown below do not include marinating time. DO marinate this overnight -- it really makes for a great tasting steak sandwich!!

This recipe was a family favorite growing up, and is from the Sunflower Sampler (Jr League of Witchita KS.). Everyone loves it, and this is a perfect dish to take to potlucks, to deliver to friends who are sick, have a family emergency, etc. Enjoy !
