Since I had some chicken thighs, leeks and mushrooms in the refrigerator, I decided to get creative and make something for lunch using the available ingredients. While I was eating lunch, my piano tuner came in and had to try a taste because it smelled so good. He gave it a rave review and I thought that it was really good as well. I am on WW and doing the core program. This recipe fits into the perimeters for the core plan.

    Recipe #126159

My husband and I had the most delicious parmesan crusted halibut at the Beach Cafe in Malibu, California. I decided to try to recreate the recipe using salmon instead of halibut. My husband and son claimed that it tasted quite good. So I decided to submit it here so that I wouldn't forget how to do it.

    Recipe #104587

I got this tasty recipe at a luncheon that was held at my home a few weeks ago. The cucumbers are very good served alone or on crackers.

    Recipe #91338

I went to a luncheon today with a St. Patrick's Day theme and the hostess made this wonderful apple cake. Her Irish daughter-in-law provided the recipe.

    Recipe #86829

Recently when I needed a salad for a pot luck, I was looking for a chicken and rice salad that used dried cherries. Since I didn't find exactly what I wanted, I created this using a combination of several different recipes I found using chicken, rice, and fruit.

    Recipe #86754

In looking for a good recipe (I saw several good ones)for a layered salad to take to a pot luck, I did not find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to create my own. I used ideas from some of the recipes that I found here on Zaar.

    Recipe #69543

I found this recipe just by chance on www.cooking-italian-food.com. I tried it for a dinner party that I had this evening and everyone really raved about it. The original recipe just said two jars of a meatless sauce. I tried the Newman's Mushroom Marinara sauce and found it to be quite good. I am known for making a very good spaghetti sauce, so I am always a skeptic about trying a "canned sauce". Much to my surprise, this one is really good.

    Recipe #67875

I found this recipe in a little soft cover recipe book called "Grandma's Best Desserts" put out by "Taste of Home". This recipe sounded good to me so I tried it last night and yes, I think it is really yummy. It is something a little different.

    Recipe #63999

I found this recipe last year in Allrecipes.com, and thought it sounded interesting. I figured that the ingredients were inexpensive enough that if we didn't like it, it would be no great tragedy. As it turned out, it has become a family favorite. I have taken it to several pot lucks and everyone wants the recipe. It is a good side dish for about any kind of meat.

    Recipe #48205

I got this recipe from my niece who had served it at a family Thanksgiving get together a couple of years ago. I personally think these are the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. Definitly not low cal., but oh so delicious.

    Recipe #47263

I believe this recipe came from a "Taste of Home" magazine. I wanted a good chicken pasta recipe to serve for a dinner at church and this filled the bill just right. It was a big hit and several ladies asked for the recipe. The recipe original recipe made enough for 25, so I scaled it down some. The Cool Whip in the dressing gave it an interesting flavor.

    Recipe #36730

I came up with this recipe just on a whim, one day when I was in the mood for oven fried chicken. I had done chicken with the corn flake crumbs before and knew that it was good, but I added the cashews, my DH said I had a real winner.

    Recipe #29617

My husband grew up in New Mexico where they have the real, fresh from the farm, green chilies. I learned originally how to make these from my mother-in-law and then just added my own touches to it. My DH is very critical especially when it comes to Mexican food, really likes these. You can adjust the "heat" by adding more or less green chilies, and chili powder.

    Recipe #28869

I created this recipe using some ideas from other of chicken and rice casseroles that I found. This turned out so delicious that my family raved about it and and insisted that I add it to my tried and true recipe collection.
