Adapted from Betty Crocker's Cooking for Two (2002). Quick, easy recipe. The original recipe only called for sauteing the chicken in butter, so I added a few ingredients to customize it and make the chicken more flavorful. Goes great with steamed green beans and rice. Note: Can substitute orange marmalade or other jams for the apple-butter.

    Recipe #347749

No chopping, no measuring! This is my eight-minute version of my mom's recipe, and you can't get much simpler, although you can get *much* more authentic. My mom gave me a can of spam and it was about to expire, so I figured I'd use it. When you're young, poor, and growling with hunger, you make do. The 20 minutes of cooking is waiting for the rice cooker.

    Recipe #203204

From "The Essence of Emeril: Breakfast Breads" Recipe. Off of Food Network. Posted here for safekeeping. All three methods are posted below. Requires "Basic Danish Dough," recipe #202615.

    Recipe #202614

Medium difficulty danish dough from the "Essence of Emeril: Breakfast Breads" episode off off Food Network. To be used with "Emeril's Bear Claws, Danish Twists, Danish Pockets" (recipe 202615). Posted here for safekeeping.

    Recipe #202615

Malaysian fried bread, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside; usually served with teh tarik and dhal (curry). After visiting Malaysia in 2003, I have had a tough time finding anything close to those foods here in Nebraska. I also hate converting g/mg to tsp/TBS, so I'm posting this on 'Zaar mostly for my own benefit to try later. I got this off of the Seberang Flour Mill site (Malaysia) All yields and prep time are guesses.

    Recipe #195212

While watching Martha and her friend Jane prepare this ham for Easter a few years ago, I adapted the recipe slightly and now just eyeball the ingredients and make it with whatever I have on hand. I made it for a potluck with Dr. Pepper, forgot to baste it, dumped cloves randomly in it, and it still turned out great. Mostly foolproof, which is good for foolish college students and klutzy cooks alike. I am posting this mostly for my own reference, so I don't have to go hunting for a handwritten note every time I make this. I'm guessing at the yield, but it was enough to serve several (5-6) at a small potluck. I serve it throughout the year for special occasions, not just Easter. Steps 1-11 are for the regular way; Steps 12-18 are for the lazy adaptation of this recipe.

    Recipe #194440

I visited El Paso and was won over by the excellent "Cafe Central" restaurant downtown. Upon arriving home, I searched the internet for their recipes and found one from the 1999 Texas Monthly magazine, courtesy of Cafe Central's pastry chef, Maria Devora. Instead of merengue icing, it substitutes a "sugar-cream." All prep times are guesses.
