This is a delicious almond flavored biscotti-type cookie that is not overly sweet. It was my favorite as a child (grandma used to make them). God bless her--she made them by hand. I use a machine (a Cuisinart or a stand mixer) for mixing the rather stiff batter. If the dough is too sticky, lightly flour your hands to shape the loaves. Vary it the way you like, using chocolate chips instead of nuts. Enjoy with a cup of coffee!
