I made this over the weekend. It was so good, and moist. The norm would be to bake it in a bundt pan, but I turned them into cupcakes so everyone would have their own without fighting for a slice. I soaked 4 stalks of vanilla beans in the rum for a month before using, it had a very nice familiar smell you would find in Rum and Raisin ice cream. For an added oomph, top it up with some rum flavoured butter icing or rum glaze.

I learnt how to do this today at the Westin Kuala Lumpur. They are very good and moist. You can put any thing on top for garnish, like chocolate, blueberries, or even a Snicker's bite size bar.

This is a cupcake with a nice cookie on top. It has a distinctive honey taste and very nutty.

I love these. In Morocco, the people serve these burgers with ground cumin, salt, pepper and their special "harissa" sauce on the side, in a little condiment container. The spices give the burger an added flavour.

The first time I had this stew was in a remote town in Morocco. The smell of the spices, bursting through the steam caught my attention, then, the flavours melted in my mouth. Serve with couscous or bread.

When I think of family gatherings, the first thing that comes to mind are these cabbage rolls. My first memories of these cabbage rolls was a Christmas night, at age 5 or 6. My parents were at my grand uncle's home, with the adults. The family's maid swept all the young ones and sat us down on the kitchen table, with our legs dangling down. Then, she brought a huge plate of rice, mixed with these cabbage rolls, and proceded to feed us one by one, forming the meal in a rice ball with her hand. It was so good, that everyone of those kids today, look forward to cabbage rolls with steam rice at every Christmas. This recipe was handwritten by my Godmother for me. At the end of the recipe she writes, "Happy Eating."

This is adapted from Ellice Handy's recipe book. It's a favourite tea party cake. I usually use small banana variety, called Pisang Mas in Malaysia

    I love Strawberry Jam.

    Recipe #354222

The flavours is a little like focaccia, but a French chef told me this bread comes from his provincial town, where people eat this like a bread stick, with a little olive oil. I tried this with italian style, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and some nice, matured cheese. It's pretty good. I would imagine the dough makes for a great sandwich bread too.

    Recipe #352064

This is great for Christmas, but I like them any time of the week.
