Just like we had for hot lunch at school! Quick and easy, and real comfort food. Not too bad for you, either.

    Recipe #519908

Found this in a shopper newspaper that comes to my home each week. Very easy, warm, comfort food....what's not to love?!

    Recipe #446548

Tender peices of chicken simmered in a ginger and garlic sauce. From southern India. Can be served with plain rice, lemon rice, or any other rice. Recipe from an Indian Cooking demonstration at Milwaukee School of Engineering.

    Recipe #444208

This is a changed up version of a fabulous Zaar recipe I made last night, Wallumbilla Crustless Quiche. Diet restrictions required me to make some changes, and this is the result. Great for using up leftover meats and vegetables. You can use any combination you like. Very easy, wonderfully versatile and very delicious. (Thanks to Mummamills for the original!)

This is a variation on the original Chex mix based on Buffalo chicken wing sauce. I got it from a newspaper coupon. Very easy and delicious - a bit spicy! Add more or less hot sauce to your liking. Would be great served with ranch or bleu cheese dressing for dipping.

    Recipe #404521

I found this somewhere on the web as I was searching for sodium-free alternatives for my DD. She loves stove top mix type meals, but they were absolutely off limits for her salt-free needs. This is a great substitute, easy to make and can be used to make a variety of different stove top meals. One recipe for an Italian skillet dinner is included below; I will add more as I try them. This makes enough for several dinners. Mix it up and store in a plastic container.

    Recipe #404186

There are 15 other Gumdrop Cake recipes on Zaar as of today, but not this winner from my Aunt Georgia. She used to make this for my favorite uncle and his brother, my dad. This was BY FAR my dad's all time favorite cake! Not diet friendly, but really delicious and fun for a once-in-awhile treat. You can replace some ingredients with better choices and clean up the calories and fat quite a bit (but I don't!). This makes two loaves or one large bundt cake, or you can make mini loaves which are wonderful as gifts. Great for holiday time, a little spicy and lots of color. Enjoy!

    Recipe #403653

Something different! I made it for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. A really nice change from the usual sauasage and onion stuffing. Fruity, very delicious and quite easy. From Bon Appetit magazine. The recipe makes quite a lot. We loved the leftovers.

Wonderful and easy bread - Afghan style. I fell in love with this at my favorite restaurant, Kabul, in Madison, WI. They have the most amazing bread ever. This is a good close approximation. Posting for my DD who also loves this one!

I found this in a local paper. Very easy, so I had to try it. Extremely moist and very chocolatey! Would be nice for a party or informal get together. The batter is extremely thick, don't be alarmed, this is correct. Not for dieting, but a great treat once in awhile. Enjoy.

    Recipe #365390

Really easy to make and everyone loves it. I received a few pieces of this from my friend - had to have the recipe! It is really more of a pie but can be cut in squares (like a bar). Must be refrigerated. Makes one 9x13 pan or two 8-inch pies.

Just an easy and quick crock pot chili with lots of healthy veg! I am not vegetarian, but I sure don't miss the meat in this one. Vary the veg and spices to your own tastes. I use low sodium everything for this. This is SLOW cooker recipe, so cook time is lengthy, prep time is not. :]

    Recipe #307979

Here is a quick and refreshing pasta dish that is easy. It is a nice change from the usual pastas. Uses mostly items you probably already have, except Pancetta, but you could substitute bacon or any leftover grilled meat for that and it would still be super. Next time I plan to use fresh rosemary. Enjoy.

I had a wonderful Sarma Soup at a local eatery and then tried to find a recipe online with no luck. So I used recipes for traditional Croatian Sarma, stuffed cabbage leaves, and made up my own version in a soup. It is very close to the version I had in the restaurant, but I like this one better. I am not Croatian and have no idea how authentic these flavors are, but I did use elements from recipes that were described as "authentic." This would be great for using up extra rice. Very easy and such comfort food.

    Recipe #293550

True comfort food - creamy chicken divan without all the fuss. Perfect for using your frozen ham and chicken leftovers (without thawing, if you like). Throw this in the crock pot and you will have a great warm meal to end any day. (Crock pot time shown is shown as passive cook time). I use all fat free and low sodium ingredients, but you can use what you have.

Individual pizzas that are so easy, kids can make them! Baked in a muffin tin and just a few ingredients. My kids saw this years ago on a TV show called ZOOM, and we have enjoyed them ever since. Enjoy, kids!

    Recipe #258676

A great marinated pork recipe that pairs well with Ginger Sauce #257291. I do not know how authentic this is, but it is very good. A bit fussy to make, but worth it especially for special occasions. I chop all the vegetables a day ahead so that it cuts work time on the day I plan to prepare it. Recipe originally from the Milwaukee Journal's Wisconsin Magazine insert (many years ago!)

    Recipe #258601

Easy no cook sauce for serving with Jamaican Pork Recipe or any Jerk Chicken. This is to serve along side jerk chicken and other grilled meats. I have had this so long I cannot remember where it came from, but it is great!

    Recipe #257291

I picked up this recipe yesterday at gourmet grocery store. The chef was giving out samples and I tried it, loved it and decided to make it last night. This is not a make ahead meal, but it is fast and easy. Very tasty and a nice change for us. A nice way to use turkey. We had it with a great salad.

    Recipe #251927

These are simple, yet different from just plain beans. Good for Thanksgiving or any holiday meal.
