This is a super easy, very decadent buttercream recipe that I developed to suit the chocoholic tastes of my family. If you are looking for a frosting with a rich chocolate flavor minus the cloyingly sweet taste of confectioners sugar--this is it! This recipe makes a very generous amount of frosting--I use the extra on fresh strawberries or icecream.
This is a fabulous cookie recipe I found in TOH several years ago. I had written the recipe on a card and thought I had lost it, but it magically reappeared after cleaning out a drawer! I am posting it here for safe-keeping. For best results, use a high quality chocolate chip (like Ghirardelli) and a good peanut butter. I hope you enjoy these cookies as much as I do!
This is a very easy recipe that only uses a handful of ingredients and tastes wonderful! Lemon and gingerbread are a perfect combination together. This icing also dries hard and shiny, so it is perfect for gingerbread men. Try it, you won't be disappointed!
Make sure that you use FRESH lemon juice, not the bottled kind. It will affect the flavor!
I saw this recipe in TOH and changed a few things to suit my own tastes. It is very easy to throw together and has a very satisfying flavor and texture. You may want to cut down the sugar to 1/2 cup if you don't like very sweet cookies. Use holiday colored m&m's for a festive look in lunch boxes or at parties!
This is an extremely simple horse cookie that I developed for my special boy, Blue. Try them, they are so much cheaper to make than buying those ridiculously priced ones at the tack shop! As a matter of fact, you could probably even whip up a batch in the time it takes just to get there!
I grew up on these delicious moist muffins, and would look forward to the fall season every year when my mother would bake these nonstop to keep up with my appetite! Chocolate and pumpkin may seem like an odd combination, but trust me, it is incredibly satisfying and the flavors compliment each other extremely well! (Note: you can use 1 tbs pumpkin pie spice instead of the cinnamon, ginger, and cloves)
These treats are guilt-free and really satisfy a craving for something sweet and crunchy. Low cal and with some extra fiber too, they are a much better choice than those deep fried chips at the store! I like these plain, but I bet they would be great dipped in lowfat yogurt.
This is by far the most chocolately, rich, and simple buttercream frosting I have ever tasted in my life! Don't worry about the espresso for those non-coffee people out there, you can't even tell it's the secret ingredient!
Another recipe I made up tonight after class when I discovered I probably should go to the store again at some point...LOL Anyway, it is quite easy and tastes great and I think it is something that would appeal to kids (my roommate is VERY picky and enjoyed this)
