Comfort food Filipino style! This is one of my husband's favourite Filipino dishes. I make this in big batches because it freezes well, and it tastes better the longer you keep it. It can stay for up to 2 weeks in the freezer. This can also be cooked in a slow cooker like the usual slow cooker stew.

    Recipe #198730

Don't let some of the ingredients fool you -- this spicy shrimp makes a simple, impressive dish, which I usually make for company. For more or less heat, adjust amount of red pepper. Serve over hot steamed rice.

    Recipe #188344

You don't have to be in the kitchen at the crack of dawn to prepare a terrific breakfast. In this recipe the French toast is soaked overnight like bread pudding — in the morning all you need to do is add the topping and pop it in the oven. Serve it with coffee, juice, and fresh fruit and you've got a well-rounded way to start the day.

Another fantastic Italian dish from Cucina. Lasagna is one of my favourite dishes and I just love the cheese! Yummy!!!

    Recipe #184102

Another classic French seafood recipe that's worth keeping. I consider this the baptism of fire to any aspiring cook, while I am not ready for it yet, I will archive it here. This is from Williams-Sonoma Seafood book.

    Recipe #197732

I found this on the internet yet again, posted by Clark Hamblen. I haven't tried it yet but this is how he describes it. " This recipe is excellent served for breakfast with fruit, or at lunch or dinner with a salad. This recipe makes two 9 inch pies. The reason for this is because if you only make one you will hate yourself the next day when there are no leftovers. Bacon, ham, and spinach and mushrooms are layered with 3 cheeses in this rich delicious egg dish."

Just got this one from a grocery website, and its getting rave reviews. I'm posting so that I can have a copy of it here.

    Recipe #188282

Named after the train that travels between Manila and Bicol, this popular Bicolano dish will make you reach for water faster than the bullet train. This is not for everyone, but if you're adventurous, go ahead and try it. it can be very rewarding. The ingredients though can be a bit difficult to find. Try Filipino groceries or other Asian stores.

A great lasagna using winter time vegetables.

Sprinkle chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder and seasoning salt - then sautee and enjoy. Couldn't be easier! Great recipe for quick and easy meal, even for the pickiest eater!

    Recipe #188325

With a little touch of creativity and a lot of inspiration from the wonderful memories of my mother’s delicious home-cooked meals, I came up with even better variations of Filipino dishes that I used to enjoy back home. Here is an example.

    Recipe #211990

The unique East- West marinade gives this grilled salmon a great taste.

    Recipe #188343

Kinilaw is very similar to the Latin American ceviche, it also relies on the sour agent to sort of cook the raw fish. Make sure that you get the freshest ingredient available though because the goodness of this dish depends on the freshness of the fish.

    Recipe #219010

Simple and easy to make but totally yummy:)

    Recipe #187427

Another great and up-beat dish from Cosmopolitan. Great for midweek entertaining, but this attractive dish is also tasty enough to grace the table of any dinner party. Serve with potato or green salad or both.

    Recipe #189073

I had this once and have been trying to find a good recipe eversince. Found this one in a cookbook and would love to try it sometime when I'm not so busy anymore.

    Recipe #202678

This is a variation of a popular Filipino dish called Bistek a la pobre. This is a mainstay in my family's weekly diner menu back home. The beauty of this recipe is that it is very flexible and you can make it any way you want it. My mom would sometimes make this with finely chopped carrots. I prefer adding chopped spring onions to the stir fried onion rings for garnish. Serve it with steamed rice.

    Recipe #198726

This fabulously tasty Xacutti (pronounced as sha- kooti)is a specialty of the Goan kitchen. The spice mixture, or masala might look daunting, but even if you didnt have all the spices, you can still make a very good masala. If you really want to cheat for convenience, replace Xacutti masala with 1/4 cup of good quality Indian curry powder and 1 to 2 tbsp ground dried red chillies. You can also toast dried unsweetened coconut instead of fresh, if you like. Serve this with steamed basmati rice.

    Recipe #185768

A healthy approach to pasta, this dish is simple, delicious, healthy and easy to make, what more can you ask for?

    Recipe #183775

This is a knockout dish, and the best part about it is it only looks complicated! It is very simple to make. Ask the butcher for French Trimmed Lamb, where the meat is trimmed slightly from the bone - it is an extremely classic and elegant presentation.
