    Bee or Wasp Sting Soother
    Handle

When I was little and lived in the country I used to visit an older couple. Once when I was stung by a bee my "adopted grandmother" made this to take away the sting. I've also included directions for getting the stinger out.

    Recipe #253566

    Select
    Fried Breakfast Chops With Gravy
    Handle

My mother made these growing ups and I prefer them to the thicker bone-in chops. These are easy, fast, crunchy and go great with mashed potatoes, southern green beans and biscuits.

    Recipe #237684

    Select
Pasta With Tuna, Bacon, and Broccoli
    Handle

I know how this sounds, but it is actually a really great combination. You can change it up by adding chicken, shrimp or scallops. I also like sauted mushrooms in it. It's great for left over spaghetti noodles when you're tired of plain old marinara.

    Recipe #181198

    Select
    Real Southern Style Green Beans
    Handle

My mother never just "opened a can" to make anything! She doctored everything to make it her own. These green beans are easy and even my husband eats them! Sometimes I add cut potatoes or turnips and let them simmer until soft.

Brad's Favorite Meat on a Stick
    Handle

My younger brother is a very picky eater. He does love the meat on the skewers at Chinese buffets. My mom created a much healthier version for him at home. It was also great when my father was on his low carb diet.

    Recipe #212880

    Select
    Spaghetti Red
    Handle

This is a timeless spaghetti sauce, a favorite of my Grandmother's. Due to health issues she can't cook anymore, but this is one of her favorites. In the summer I steal fresh tomatoes from my parent's garden... you can't beat this sauce when it's made with homegrown tomatoes. Leave it chunky or run it through a blender... it's up to you!

    Select
Tuna Casserole With Ranch and Potato Chips
    Handle

I made this when I discovered my standby of cream of mushroom soup was gone. (Turns out DH didn't put the groceries away very well, hehehe). This isn't exactly healthy, but it's comforting and my daughter (a ranch dressing fanatic) loved it!

    Recipe #248076

    Select
Spinach Artichoke Dip Casserole With Chicken
    Handle

My Italian boyfriend LOVES anything with artichokes, but they can be pricey out here in Kansas. He'll eat the marinated hearts straight out of the jar, but I prefer them "in something." After watching him devour some spinach artichoke dip I came up with this as a meal. Even my super picky daughter ate it up. I only used 2 chicken breasts to stretch the meat, but you could use more.

    Recipe #314157

    Select
Cheesecake Bars With Brown Sugar Crust
    Handle

These are a wonderful (and easy) way to satisfy a cheesecake craving. I like to spoon cherry pie filling over mine too! For more lemon flavor add some grated zest to the cream cheese mixture.

    Recipe #241424

    Select
Chicken Enchiladas in Creamy White Sauce
    Handle

These are wonderful! My mother always makes a half a pan with nuts and a half pan without them. I prefer the texture the nuts give. Add crushed red pepper to soup mixture for more heat.

    Recipe #245933

    Select
    Gourmet Stuffed Eggplant
    Handle

This can be made ahead of time and then baked. It really kicks up an otherwise "easy" meal of spaghetti with meatballs or fettucine alfredo. Don't forget the salt... it helps with the eggplant's bitterness. I put in all of the ingredients that suit my own tastes, but you can leave some out depending on what your family likes (mine won't touch tomatoes!)

    Recipe #239869

    Select
    Crock Pot Spicy Roast Sandwiches
    Handle

These are great for football parties! You can make the meat spicy with the hot peppers or for the wienies use mild (I'm teasing!) The leftovers are awesome made into quick chimichangas. Put the meat into a tortilla, roll and fold, and fry. Use more or less meat and peppers depending on the guest list.
