When I saw this recipe in Appeal magazine, I knew that I had to try it. I love trying things that are "just a bit different". I served this warm with some vanilla ice cream. My DH said that it reminded him of Hawaii!!! This could be made easier by using 3 cans of pineapple chunks with their own juice
My DD is thrilled when I made this easy salad for her. An option is to serve the avocado by itself or lay it on a bed of lettuce with a sprinkle of dried blueberries. Because avocado quenches the heat of chilies, serve this salad with or after a spicy dish
This is strickly for lamb lovers out there! This is a "bold, in your face" taste...lots of garlic, tang from the vinegars and spiciness from the mustard and rosemary. This is way to easy to put together...but it does need up to 24 hours to marinate, so plan this well. I got this recipe from a well known Vancouver barbecue chef/author/firefighter, David Veljacic. He has won many, many awards for his recipes ...I though this was a winner!!!
Golden brown bread crumbs flavored with oregano and garlic perks up plain ol' steamed broccoli. Everything can be done ahead of time...ready for last minute cooking. Coffee filters come in handy to hold ingredients such as the breadcrumbs and spices needed in this dish
Smoothies are so easy to create with milk, mixed frozen fruit, yogurt and some protein powder. I made mine a bit different by using yogurt drinks. I like the fact that you can drink this smoothie without having to use a straw (or spoon!!) and the frozen fruit act like ice cubes, so this helps prevent brain freeze
This is my version of Lipton's Diet Lemon Green Tea drink, without all that sodium!!! I always seem to have a drink going and I really hate drinking plain water, so I figure I might as well get some extra benefits by drinking green tea with all those wonderful oxidents. I have to watch my sugar intake, so I purposely made it low in sugar...but this can be flavored to personal preference. I literally make a jug of this each day and go through the whole thing. Serve this hot or cold
This is strictly for the true choco-holic. If you like your cookie to be soft and chewy and you like the idea of intensifying the effect of the chocolate chips by adding a grated milk chocolate bar, try this recipe!!! Bet ya can't have just one!!!
