This salad was inspired by a recipe for cucumber sagnchae from Korean Cooking by Young Jin Song. The dressing is his, the vegetables are mine! And I have increased the size - his is a little appetizer, and mine is a large bowl, enough for a big family like ours, or for a dinner with friends! It is a very spicy dish, and you can adjust the hotness to suit your taste. My Japanese husband could eat it every day, despite the inclusion of broccoli and cauliflower!

I needed to use a healthy but very boring (on its own) turkey breast. The recipe below was a combination of two other recipes plus a bit of imagination. It was made on Valentine's Day, and I had an inspiration to shape it as a giant heart. Red fig mustard gave it a nice reddish glow. It was very good, both warm and cold the next day. It definitely was not boring. And it was extremely simple. Serve with some green salad on the side.

I am on a post-Christmas diet, and wanted something filling yet low calorie. This recipe was inspired by a couple of great soup recipes from this very website, and by all the vegetables I found in my fridge. It turned out to be very flavoursome and the caramelised onions, which you add after you puree the soup, gave it interesting texture.

This recipe was really a combination of two other risotto recepies from this very site with a couple of my own additions. It may sound as if there are too many ingredients, but it worked so well for us that I decided to write it down as a proper dish. I suspect that herb mixture can be modified - oregano, tarragon, chevril will also work, but I used what I had in my fridge. Unlike other risotto recipies, this one does not include butter - and we did not miss it. Enjoy!

I was looking for a recipe for a wonderful salad with walnuts and pomegranate molasses dressing that we had in Turkey, and this was the closest I found. I was not too religious about removing seeds from the tomatoes though, and it was a little too watery, so next time I will be more careful. But the taste was good, very refreshing. You can also add some bulgur to it, if you want the salad to be a little heavier (in Turkey I had it both with and without bulgur).
