    I wrote out this recipe AGES ago -- don't remember where I found it -- but finally tried it this week. Oh. my. goodness. I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT!!! Simple and irrisistible! Tastes good the first day, but definitely better a day later; my recommendation would be to make it a day in advance if it's for a special occasion.

    From my Better Homes & Gardens "New Cook Book" (10th ed., published in 1989!) Found this today while looking for a good, simple recipe that my almost-5-yr old daughter could help me with. It's great for that reason -- extremely quick and easy -- but it also tastes really good, especially the topping!! Nice and moist and not too sweet.

    This is from the Company's Coming Select Series Beans & Rice cookbook. I didn't have instant rice so I used the same amount of regular white rice, increased the chicken broth by 1 cup, and boiled the rice with the veggies. I think I probably should have used a little less rice (or another tin of mushroom soup!) because it was a little on the dry-ish and it filled my 3 qt casserole -- the recipe just calls for a 2 qt. I also substituted chopped red pepper for the carrots and added it with the broccoli. But all modification aside, it was still a very tasty casserole and definitely a do-over in THIS house -- especially when topped with a bit of melted cheddar!!

    I've always known that brown sugar was brown because of molasses, but until I happened upon a do-it-yourself video while roaming the blogosphere, I would NEVER have guessed you could actually very simply make it at home. This will yield a medium-coloured sugar; increase or decrease the amount of molasses to lighten or darken as desired.

    According to "Remembering Amy," some refer to bologna as 'North Carolina steak.' As that just sounds so much more appetizing than plain old BALONEY, I thought I'd use it in the name. This is an adaptation of her Recipe#133284. It was delicious, but we couldn't keep the green pepper and onion from sliding off the bun. Here's my solution:

This tastes very similar to my Recipe#176278, but without all the fuss of making a crust. (cooking time doesn't include cooking chicken or boiling pasta)

    This was born one night when I was trying a new recipe, but didn't have all the right ingredients. It's bits and pieces of 2 recipes plus my own additions. Awesome with fresh mushrooms, but very good with canned as well. I used to always buy the Knorr Herb and Garlic Sauce packages to make this dish, but haven't been able to find them for the last couple of years. This is VERY close to the same flavour, if not an exact duplicate, so that's exciting for me! Depending on how saucy you like your pasta, this is enough for 2 main course servings and up to 6 side dish servings.

    Of all the Irish cream recipes here, I haven't found any quite like this one. I discovered this in the Company's Coming Gifts from the Kitchen cookbook a couple of years ago and I've never bought Bailey's again. I gave a bottle to my cousin and his wife for Christmas one year and he claims it's better than the original! Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 weeks -- if it actually lasts that long!!

    I'm a huge Toblerone fan. Every year, my parents give us each a 1 kg. bar as our stocking stuffers for Christmas. (So that they don't have to get any other little things -- nothing else fits in the stocking after that!) Here's another recipe for all you Toblerone lovers out there.
