Low cal Chinese - Simple dinner fare for weeknights or a great meal for leftovers after Christmas or Thanksgiving. This is not overly flavored because I really like the simple taste of the veggies. All measurements are approximate. Like more carrots? More Celery or baby corn? Easy changes without changing the ba

I have this often for lunch, specially in the middle of all the rich food filled holidays. It's filling, lite, and very healthy - plus it's super tasty!

    Recipe #477792

I had leftover Easter smoked ham and needed a low fat dish for me - turned out great! Nice and spicy and would be good with elbow macaroni added too

This Thai Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry is even more delicious than the Chinese version, with more depth of flavor and slightly more spice (this can be adjusted according to your liking). The beef is cut thinly and stir-fried quickly and easily together with broccoli, red pepper, and a delicious stir-fry sauce. The broccoli really works in this dish, as it fully absorbs the sauce and provides that nice added bit of crunch. Serve with plain steamed jasmine rice for an easy Asian comfort food dish your family will love. From

    Recipe #443433

This recipe is inspired by a cranberry pie from Sarah Chase’s book Cold Weather Cooking. I haven't made it yet, but I will soon - sounds scrumptious!

    Recipe #439316

I got this recipe from Family Fun recipes and I knocked down the sugar, and substituted Fiber One cereal for part of the oats. I also made the size of the bars a more reasonable 12 per pan instead of 16.

Cold, refreshing garden soup by Annie B. Copps Yankee Magazine Editor Often referred to as "liquid salad," gazpacho may be a vegetable's best expression of summer. Its success (and yours) depends on the freshest of ripe ingredients, which are all at their peak now through the end of August. This chilled soup, of Spanish provenance, keeps your kitchen and you cool (no oven or burner to turn on), no matter what the thermometer reads. We offer a great list of vegetables to put into this soup, but feel free to work with what you have handy. Like most recipes, "authentic" gazpacho is a well-debated subject and can run the gamut from garnishes such as grilled shrimp and chopped eggs to some with nary a tomato invited to the party. This version is left chunky, but feel free to puree the whole kit and caboodle (if so, no need to dice the ingredients finely -- a rough chop will do just fine).

    Recipe #311715

Dozens of fat grams in chicken salad = bad news. Crunchy cucumbers, red grapes, and yogurt dressing on the other hand = GREAT additions. Here's HG's guilt-free answer to the notoriously fattening Waldorf chicken salad... from hungrygirl newsletter

    Recipe #298632

My kids wanted pizza AGAIN! But my hips don't like pizza anymore.....or maybe they like it too much! I noticed that the pepperoni I bought was only 13 calories per slice (Only?) so I decided to make a lower fat pizza/pasta dish using chicken breast. It was really good! It has 550 calories, but remember that a slice of pizza can be around 400 calories! For One piece! YIKES! Add a nice green salad with low fat dressing and you have a whole meal under 600 calories. Reduce the chicken to 3 oz, and the pepperoni to turkey pepperoni & you could save much more fat and calories.

    Recipe #298631

A blend of mushrooms, tomatoes and rissoni with a swirl of feta. From Family Health Networks

A Yummy looking and tasting Barley and Shrimp casserole from I hadn't tried barley much, just what is in canned soupd growing up, and after eating this I have to wonder why it is not more widely used. Barley is very good and this is a scrumptious way to fix it! It might need more liquid, mine seemed a bit dry. Try adding it at the end though, so you don't accidentally get it to soupy.

    Recipe #288400

Nice weekday meal that is easy to make and good to eat. My mom made it for us growing up, we all loved it! You can use well drained cooked ground beef instead of round steak.

    Recipe #233396

Yummy, crunchy, sticky, low cal, low fat (if you use "Better than Peanut Butter") popcorn recipe that I came up with in desperation one day in response to getting soooo sick of air-popped popcorn made with butter spray and Parmesan cheese, my old diet standby. I know this sounds odd, but try it!-- It's yummy!

    Recipe #232948

A delicious and filling turkey frame soup with homemade noodles! Worth every second of fixing it!

    Recipe #197993

Low cal yogurt dessert or snack that is sooooo good! My dd says it is sour, and until I tasted it I had planned to add a tablespoon of French Vanilla Coffeemate sweetened non-dairy creamer (35 calories) but when I licked the spoon it tasted so good that i didn't want to add anything else! You can add it if you want it sweeter.

    Recipe #196880

I had a Farmland ham that was already cubed so I thew a little of this and a little of that together. It was good, but I think I'd like to try it again with shrimp!
