With a good chicken stock to back this up, even the smallest mouths at your table will slurp up this lovely combination of vegetables. Even done at the last minute, the flavors blend deeply, as if you made it a day in advance.
Cream is optional, but a nice touch.
A terrific way to use up the bounty of summer berries--any time of year. We press our raspberries and freeze the juice in quart jars. This would also be lovely for blackberries. For strawberries, I recommend just smashing the berries until you have just the right size of chunks. This recipe is for a large ice-cream machine, but it's easy to pare down for a smaller machine.
Hearty, flavorful and filling. My husband and I were both suprised at how delicious this was. The included ingredients really give a full, complete flavor to the dish. I compiled this after reading through several recipes and not being satisfied. This would be a great side dish, but we eat it as a one-dish meal.
In honor of Valentine's Day, I present the "Jealousy Cookie", or the "Horny Toad Cookie". The more kid-friendly name because this is, after all, a monster cookie with only green M&M's, and everyone knows that the Green Eyed Monster is Jealousy; the black sheep relative of Love. The not-so-kid-friendly name is because most everyone is aware that green M&M's, *ahem*...increase romantic inclinations...
A beautifuly smooth and creamy recipe I pulled from another site. It comes from Bon Apetite magazine. I tried a few and liked this one the best. It's a bit fussy, but very worth the effort. (I don't like coffee, so I didn't include the coffee powder.) Try adding a teaspoon of mint or orange extract for an easy variation. You *must* let this chill overnight so that the flavor can settle.
