A friend from upstate NY had this served at a favorite restaurant. He badgered the chef for the recipe - he was given all of the ingredients but the amounts left out! Recently played around until he came up with this. Serve over salad of choice.
It was snowy & icy in upstate NY. We had gotten in from the grocery store, put things away & realized we forgot Cocktail Sauce for the shrimp! I popped open "The Old Settlement Cookbook", circa. 1943, and found this one. I like it because it calls for things usually on hand.
The only brisket recipe I use. Found in 1st UMC, Abilene, Texas Centennial Cookbook submitted by Jeany Coughran. I altered it from garlic salt to garlic powder & omitted the MSG - I never use it. Cooking time includes time of marinating the meat & actual cook time.
