That's how my mum used to call this alsatian tart. The real name is flammekueche, in my family, we make it with "fromage blanc", which is something creamier than plain yogurt. You can find a lot of different recipes for this tarte, using creme fraiche or not, very thin bread dough or puff pastry. I like it this way, try it with some gruyère cheese (grated) on top, Miam !

A tasty date and rum filling, bake between puff pastry sheet. Lovely french "dessert", served warm or cold, plain or with a little bit of ice cream. Don't forget to hide a whole date or a little something that you are not suposed to eat ( and something that won't melt haha) and the person who finds eat, will have to make a cake and share it with you ! I wrote a lot of directions, because i'm French and doesn't speak English correctly, but it's very easy.

Spanish "madeleines", made with oil. You can find them everywhere in Spain, they are sold into big Tupperware or huge paperboard box. I live at the border between France and Spain, and i can tell you that this homemade version tastes exactly the same! very moist, very good ! Before baking, you can sprinkle some sugar on top of each Magdelena, add dried fruits of chocolate chips =)

In France, we make a cake, called "Gâteau au yaourt / Yogurt cake" very easy, because you just need the container to weigh all ingredients. You can use the flavor you want, or add fruits or chocolate chips. We usually bake this cake in a regular pan, but i like to do it into cupcakes tins. You can use your blender to make the dough ! Here in France, a yogurt container is equal to 1/2 cup, but you can adapt to your own container! you can double the recipe, or more ! it's very easy =) (i like to do this with apple sauce instead of yogurt) [3 march 2007 visiting a friend in the us, i made this cake using low fat dannon vanilla yogurt, brown sugar, bananas and frozen strawberries ! very good!]
