Blueberries, OJ, yogurt and banana - a powerful punch of antioxidants and vitamin C. From SuperFoods by Steven Pratt, MD.

    Recipe #321744

"Secret" recipe from the best steakhouse in Cordova, Alaska! This makes almost any kind of salmon palatable (except for pinks). Requires only 30 minutes marinating time. Makes a huge batch of marinade - would probably cover two huge fillets. You could try making half... (I use dried parsley and it tastes great.)

    Recipe #430300

Blueberries and peaches with a hint of cinnamon - Delicious! Easy to make! Made with fresh blueberries and frozen peaches. I've made this the last several years with wonderful results. Taken from blueberry-recipe.com. Wanted to store it where I won't lose it!

    Recipe #384284

THE best jelly I have ever tasted, let alone made. Low-bush cranberries grow wild here and are very tart. Combined with the strawberry and orange of this recipe gave a fabulous flavor that I crave year-round! I used frozen strawberries just fine. Have made this recipe several times with success each time. I've tried other similar recipes that turned out hard and tasteless. Recipe is from a friend's local cookbook.

    Recipe #384366

Delicious, moist yellow cake with Cool Whip pudding frosting. Easily made with a box yellow cake mix and flavored with mandarin oranges. Yummy - my favorite cake of all time & quick to make!

    Recipe #179792

This is a bright pink / fuschia jelly made from fireweed blossoms. Fireweed is a bright pink wildflower native to Alaska. I've made this several years and it always turns out. I've used powdered pectin and liquid pectin with positive results. Taken from totallyalaska.com - I wanted to store this where I won't lose it!

    Recipe #384402

Blueberry peach crisp - lighter than usual - very little sugar. A way to make blueberries (especially tart ones) delightful! Alaskan blueberries have 10X the antioxidants of regular blueberries too. Kids and adults alike love this flavor!

    Recipe #321093

This is a quick, healthy, yummy dessert that everybody in my family loved! From the August issue of Better Homes & Gardens -- It took less than 20 minutes to prepare and you can customize it by adding your favorite berries. Sweet with only 1/2 cup sugar in the whole thing! The recipe called for 1 Tbsp. fresh snipped basil to be added with the dry ingredients, but I omitted it and it was wonderful!

    Recipe #246187

A healthy, hearty, crockpot-friendly recipe for a tasty black bean & turkey polska kielbasa combination. Serve alone or over brown rice for a complete protein. Easy on the waistline & checkbook. My kids like it -I go easy on the cayenne pepper for them. From Once-A-Month Cooking cookbook.

    Recipe #179790

Amazing recipe to marinate salmon prior to smoking. We've used this recipe the last 4 years with great success. Gives a tangy, flavorful bite to smoke fish strips. We cut the fish into 1-inch wide strips approx. 8-10 inches long and tie two together with thin twine. We then loop the tied strips over slats in our smokehouse for the drying time and smoking. We smoke slowly outdoors in our smokehouse using a combination of alders and apple chips. We use red cooking wine for our preferred flavor. Recipe taken from www.fishsniffer.com, Cookin' Your Catch, by Mark Elkins. This is an expensive marinade, but it will fill a five-gallon bucket and do approximately 10-12 huge fish. Prior to beginning, line a 5-gallon bucket with a clean, household garbage bag (33 gallon).
