This recipe copmes from an Amish cookbook from the great state of Ohio. It has a great flavor and makes it's own gravy that go great on mashed potatoes or stuffing. It's a simple recipe to make and my DH and DD'S love it!
This is a very simple to make bar cookie, goes great with a cup of coffee for breakfast or any other time of the day. My old neighbor, Aunt Lou, introduced me to this recipe about 40 years ago when I was a little girl. It's always been a favorite of mine because I've always LOVED coffee!!!
This is the highlight of my 'after' Easter cooking....that ham bone that is in the fridge after most of the ham is eaten. I just can't get myself to throw it out without making a pot of this soup!! I use canned beans in place of the dry, it just makes making the soup so much easier and the beans are always cooked just right. Be careful when adding salt, if the ham was salty the soup may not need any. Hope you like my recipe!!
I just love Eggplant Parm but didn't like having to bread the eggplant in bread crumbs so I eliminated that step and it is just as wonderful. I also eliminated the 'salt and sit' step in most recipes to take the extra water from the eggplant. I find that step to make the dish dry and tough. I think if you try it this way you'll make it my way forever!!
This was given to me by a friend many years ago and it is the only recipe that I like.....I have tried dozens of pizzelle recipes over the years and always return to this one. My family does not like anise flavoring and this recipe always gets rave reviews because they are a different flavor.I hope that you will try it, you'll love them! I always dust them lightly with powdered sugar for an extra special treat. My pizzelle iron is made by Palmer Manufacturing and it is the absolute best iron in the world.....you NEVER make a bad cookie, everyone comes out perfect. I also use a very small ice cream scoop to portion my batter.
Soon cranberries will be showing up in the grocery stores and this recipe is one that I make quite often during the winter months. I even buy and freeze cranberries so that I can make this whenever I'm hungry for it!! I've served it for Christmas parties, etc. and it's always well received. When I make this in a large amount for a party, I line my chops up domino style and try to spoon the sauce down the center of the row, it looks so pretty that way!
I've had this recipe for at least 20 years and finally tried it last year.......yyyyuuuummmmmmyyyy! It is definitely a 5 star recipe. The filets are cooked on the stove and finished in the oven, you won't believe how wonderful they are!!
I was given this recipe many years ago by a co-worker and it "IS" the best peanut butter cookie that you will "EVER" eat. The almond extract brings out the flavors so well, it is yummy! They won't last long in your house!
II have always liked the taste of beef stroganoff but not the stringy, tough texture of cheaper cuts of beef. I decided to develop my own recipe for stroganoff using filet mignons. The result is a succulent, tender, wonderful culinary experience. Give it a try......you'll love it!! **NOTE: this recipe is not for the diet conscious! For some reason 'Zaar will not take my filet info.....it's (2) two inch thick filets.
This is a new topping that I now use on my Chocolate Cream Pie Recipe #323633. It is fluffy and just the right compliment to this wonderful, tasty pie. It makes alot and you may want to make only half of a recipe. Me, I prefer to have it all on my pie...it is so beautiful piled high!!
Yep, another cookie recipe from the BH&G 2008 Christmas Cookie Book. These look both good and pretty. I believe that they used a glass with a decorative bottom to flatten the cookies, maybe cut glass, because they are imprinted with that type of design. I can't wait to try these, my DD loves mint and chocolate!!
This is a variation of a fruit salad that my Godmother made at all of our holiday celebrations. She did alot of prep work and cooking to make this. I've made it simple and it has become a staple with my daughters. They have enjoyed this for 22 and 25 years respectfully!!!! It wouldn't be a family gathering without it!!
My girlfriend is a caterer and this is one of her most requested dishes. My DD's always bring some home when they work parties with her and it's on the menu! I hope you enjoy it. Orzo is a greek pasta for those of you who aren't sure of what it is!
