I remember when I was growing up watching my great aunt cook and listening to all her tips on cooking and was thinking about her fried cabbage.... so this morning (new years day) I decided to use up the cabbage I had left in the refrigerator. I added my own touch to my aunts way of steaming. She just usually steamed her cabbage in bacon grease, I like to kick my food up just a notch! :)
The measurements in this recipe might be off a bit but the main thing is getting the flavor of the spices.
This recipe comes from the Michael Thurman Six Week Body Makeover Diet Program. I wanted to make sure I have this recipe somewhere where I can find it in case I lose my recipe card. It's really a delicious recipe with a ingredient I never thought of using to hold the meatloaf together along with the regular egg whites. I use Recipe #236938 for my rice.
This recipe comes from the Kraft Food and Family Magazine. Simple and easy to make and great for using Vanilla Wafers, Orange flavor gelatin, and Cool Whip along with fresh Peaches. Great to have on a warm summer day for those special family get together cookouts.
Cooking time is the chilling time.
This is a recipe from my Aunt Nancy. Every Christmas we would gather at her house and she would have this awesome cheese ball. When I got married and had a family of my own, I asked her for her recipe. I touched it up with some red and green peppers. I love this cheese ball! its my all time favorite.
This corn dip has been a really big hit for me. Its easy to make and everyone will ask you for the recipe when you take it to parties or have one of you own. I can't ever escape a party without someone stopping me and asking how to make that "awesome" corn dish. Great for a Picnic too!!
I love bleu cheese dressing. I had visited the Spaghetti Factory in Nashville Tenn. several years ago and I had the best bleu cheese dressing that I ever ate. I have searched and searched for that special taste again in dressings. I finally found one that really comes very close. The recipe came from a friend but I changed a few ingredients to fit my taste.
This recipe comes from the Rice A Roni site. We enjoy black beans and I am always looking for new ways using them. Wanted to share this recipe and have for safe keeping. Also added alittle more cheese and guacamole measurements for the burritos, to our taste.
I was searching around for Christmas ideas and came across this one from organize Christmas site. Thought I would share it with you.
You'll need quart size jar and a snack size food baggie and a large enough tag to write instructions on.
This makes 1 jar gift
Found this recipe from Target. Haven't tried it yet but sure does sound good. I love blue cheese and always looking for recipes using blue cheese. Posting this to save in my cookbook. I added my own preference of blue cheese.
Rosenborg is my favorite brand of blue cheese, its the best I think :)
This recipe is simple to make. I have made shrimp this way for years. It's kinda like having a shrimp cocktail. Shrimp is best when chilled. Great for parties, with meals as a appetizer or just alone.
NOTE: Use seasonings to your taste. I usually add 1 packet of Splenda (or of choice) to the cocktail sauce instead of regular sugar.
