When blackberries are in season, there is nothing that says summer like this simple, delicious cobbler. Adapted from The Pioneer Woman Cooks, this easy cobbler will work with a multitude of fresh (or frozen if you must)fruits. Incredible with homemade vanilla ice cream!

    Recipe #433031

This is adapted from Alice Water's onion tart recipe. It is deceivingly simple, but the flavors are surprisingly complex. I use the basic pie crust recipe from Edna Lewis's Taste of Southern Cooking cookbook, usually making several extra crusts to freeze and then pull out for a wonderful dish like this one. The simplicity of this tart is adapted from Alice Water's onion tart found on another website.

    Recipe #408334

I defy even Ben & Jerry's to top this recipe combination! Banana pudding and homemade ice cream combined into one perfect bowl! My daughter prepared this on my birthday to go with my mother-in-law's famous Caramel Cake. Heavenly! You are welcome to dice or slice fresh banana to garnish, but we were so very satisfied with the banana flavor of the finished product that we found it unnecessary. (Be sure to leave the vanilla wafers in chunks, as crumbs would detract from the texture.)
