Ah Mackinac Island, a Michigan tourism paradise known for its horse-drawn carriages, lilacs, the Grand Hotel [scene of the movie "Somewhere In Time"] and, oh yes, fudge. Wander through the streets and about every 3rd or 4th shop you pass will be a fudge shop, and you'll usually be able to watch the freshly boiled up fudge being spread and cooled on a marble slab. It's strangely addicting watching this process, and if you hang around awhile you'll get a sample eventually. This recipe purports to be an authentic version, though no particular fudge shop was mentioned as owning the recipe. The initial recipe is for a vanilla fudge. Chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge variations follow, so read through the entire recipe if you want to make either of those flavors.

No that's not a mistake...I changed the name of the classic drink to reflect this one that I made up for myself. Give it a try! Just be sure to use Bacardi Ciclon in this....plain rum or plain tequila won't be the same!!

Shuler's was a very well known restaurant in Michigan with great food. Now that they are no longer in business, it's nice to have a few of their recipes! Found in March 30, 2004, Detroit Free Press with this quote: "Schuler meatballs are tender, not chewy or crispy. To achieve this, use fresh bread crumbs. A couple slices of tender white bread processed in the food processor should do the trick." I've not made this yet.

Found this in a back issue of Good Housekeeping. I love lemon and spice together, so I'm sure it'll be tasty. Haven't tried it yet but will soon. Servings, prep and cook time are all the suggestions of the magazine and don't include cooling time.
