This is a very good bread to make for dinner parties and other occasions. It's pretty, aromatic, and very tasty. Also, it's easy and quite adaptable to what you happen to have on hand. It looks like it's complicated, but it's really easy.

    Recipe #164547

I got this recipe off the side of a Fiber One box... and it's a goodie. You can use pretty much any kind of bran cereal in it, and the addition of different types of yogurt adds subtle shadings of different flavours. I try to match the yogurt to whatever type of additional stuff that I add - 1/2 cup chopped fruit, berries, raisins, nuts, etc. (optional).

    Recipe #151089

From Taste of Home. Very light and tasty. Good for autumn meals. Warming without being fattening.

    Recipe #149458

I modified this recipe from one my mum gave me a few years ago when I was just learning how to bake for myself... the original called for 2 tbsp of shortening, but I replaced it with 2 tbsp of unsweetened applesauce. I actually think that the texture of my bread is better than the original's. If you want to change it up, pretty much anything can be added to this basic recipe - 1/2 a cup of raisins and 2 tsp cinnamon; various pinches of herbs; 1/2 a cup of cubed cheese; etc.
