This is a tasty dish from the Philippines. I live in the Philippines and this dish was prepared by my Filipino wife, it is the common recipe for Caldereta in the Philippines. It is a rich, very filling meaty dish and when served on a bed of cooked rice can be a one dish family meal.
Simple and easy to make. It’s a recipe used by my Filipino wife’s family for many years. You don’t have to go out and buy anything special for this sauce, you’ll have the ingredients on hand. We use it mostly for a lumpia dip but it’s also a great dip for chicken nuggets, pork, meatballs, etc.
This is an easy to prepare slow-cooker meal. Delicious and filling it is meaty and with sufficient vegetables to give one that really satisfied feeling. Prepare it the evening before and refrigerate, then slip it into the Crock pot when leaving for work the next morning. Yum it’s soooooo good!
This is a large 10-12 lb Bar-B-Que brisket that will serve a large crowd - it's always a favorite with everyone. It is very tender with a heavy delicious bar-b-que flavor.
I serve this with potatoe salad and western style baked beans (see my recipe)
Freeze any left-over meat slices for sandwiches or future meals.
Gives a rich full American barbecue flavor. Rub it on whole or chicken pieces, pork, beef or fish. Low cost to make and stores well without refrigeration. We sometimes sprinkle on salads for a sparkling flavor.
