This is an extremely simple oven baked chicken wing "recipe". It's roots came out of me being tired of paying premium prices for those frozen cooked Buffalo Wings in the grocery store! I hesitate to even call it a recipe, since it is so simple. Not fancy, but super simple on time and ingredients.. and still satisfying.
A very old-fashioned basic quick bread using graham (or whole wheat) flour. My Grandma made it at all holidays... hence the name. She was born in the mid 1880's and probably learned the recipe from her own mother. I had to write it down by standing at her elbow as she made it! Since there is no shortening in this recipe... I recommend whole milk... but skim also works. Make sure to use baking soda... NOT baking powder. Bread is moist, dense, and flavorful.
A simple, frugal, curry flavored dish with it's roots from Africa [although my recipe card sites Barbados!?!] that is an excellent way to stretch only a pound of ground beef into a family meal. Originally found in a collection of recipe cards from "My Great Recipes" printed in Holland, it has become a staple in our family!
