A light, tasty and easy to put together chicken and rice dish. Something for a night when there just isnt enough time to put too much energy into the cooking. You can either use a can of cream of mushroom soup or a can of cream of chicken soup for this dish. You can make this dish without the eggs on top - i have had it both ways and they are both equally delicious and easy to digest.
Yummy! I love the Indonesian recipes and this is no different! This is a great dish to have with the Ayam Goreng recipe I have posted. What you can include in the recipe which I personally don't is chicken and little prawns (cooked of course), to add to the actual rice mixture. Think I might whip up a batch tonight for hubby and I. Enjoy! Oh by the way I use Basmati Rice - its my personal preference.
I love my chicken and I especially love the different ways the Indonesians cook it. When I was over there last time I asked for the recipe. Bear in mind they get the spices from the market and use a mortar & pestle to crush them, but I just use store bought and crushed! - I cook the chicken in a frypan with olive oil to seal the seasoned chicken and then pop it in the oven for about 20 - 30 minutes (depending on the thickness) to cook it through. However the quicker option would be to deep fry it (if you can afford the calories!!!). Chicken done this way is great served with Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice). I hope you enjoy.
Absolutely one of the best risottos I have made. It is a creamy risotto guaranteed to make you groan in delight when eating it. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did. The most time consuming part is all the stirring - but its good for the arms!!
Yummy...anyone who has been to Bali, Indonesia would surely have tried their banana pancakes. Anyway this is a recipe as close as I can get to them making it, however it always tastes better over there!
A very tasty creamy pasta dish, good for cooking when you have company. Be careful though, you may have too much fettucine per sauce quantity so if this is the case, do not use all the fettucine as it will take away the richness of the sauce. Another alternative is to use rice as the base rather than the pasta.
A low-fat veggie soup recipe which is nice on a winters night with some warmed crusty dinner rolls. I am not sure of US equivalent of can sizes, so I hope the 14 oz I have put where cans are needed are correct. Basically, just your average can size, not small and not fat, just normal size! Hope that makes sense!
Lamb Forequarter Casserole.
This casserole is so yummy! The trick is to cook it slowly for at least two and a half hours. It can also be done in the slow cooker. The lamb just falls off the bone when it is done correctly. Warning...if it is not cooked long enough the lamb will be tough!
I always taste the sauce after an hour and a half to see if it needs anything added. I hope you enjoy this.
By the way the recipe only allows me to put the chops as shoulders but I buy them labeled forequarters.
A tasty savory mince casserole that will warm you through in winter. It's not a heavy meal either which is a bonus. I always check the casserole and taste the sauce about half way through cooking just in case you need to add more water, stock or whatever you fancy.
Where I have put pasta sauce in the ingredients, I mean ready made tomato based sauce like Paul Newman or Raguletto. I generally use a third of a jar.
