    Recipe #420450

Found in a magazine. Very pretty presentation. I've made twice, once using the pastry shell recipe given, and once with refrigerated dough from the grocery store. The recipe's version is very good (plus you get two for the freezer, but if you are in a hurry, store bought crust is just fine. The second time, I also added a little bit of amaretto to the filling. Very good.

We love the delicate flavor of these scones. Make sure to use firm pears...too soft and you lose the texture during baking. Also can make this with apples and cheddar for a more intense flavor.

    Recipe #354960

Found on the internet, submitted by Olga Stanko. Saw it and immediately thought of ZWT, of course! Can be used as an appetizer or main dish. Recommended to accompany tomato bisque. *PLEASE NOTE THAT DOUGH HAS TO BE MADE THE NIGHT BEFORE*

    Recipe #339252

Fantastic side dish for when you've fired up the grill.

    Recipe #309817

Submitting for ZWT. Cook time does not include chill time

My own blue cheese spread...you can use it with crackers and/or veggies for a flavorful appetizer. Bake on slices of baguette for a tasy crostini. Place inside burgers before baking or just spread it on the bun. The cranberries are optional but add a slight bit of sweetness and very pretty color.

    Recipe #297179

I came up with this one late morning when it was almost lunch time. I'd had some bacon I planned on having for breakfast, but then we ended up sleeping in. It was pretty good so I made it again and adjusted a few things and now it makes a great meal any time of day. 1/2 lb of bacon is enough for just an accent of bacon; use a full pound if you want your salad meatier.

    Recipe #297089

So, so good. Serves 8 as appetizers or 4 for a main dish.

    Recipe #294993

Inspired by jerk chicken for my family and we just love it! Use the seeds in the peppers if you like the heat. Hope you enjoy it!

    Recipe #294733

Found this in a magazine and made a few changes to better suit my family. It's great for left over steak or for a quick week night meal. The original recipe called for coating the steak strips with a tablespoon of cornstarch. I skip this because I don't like the way it affects the texture of the meat but it does make for a nice thickened sauce so you may want to try it. You could also use cornstarch in the actual sauce to thicken it. Also, feel free to add onions or mushrooms or any other veggies you prefer.

    Recipe #294200

Tasty dinner that freezes well. 1 lb of ground beef or turkey can be added if desired but this makes a wonderful meatless meal. Looks really good if you bake individual pies in ramekins but tastes just as good in pie plates as well and is easier to clean so that's how I usually do it. Also since there is only three of us, I bake one pie plate for dinner and freeze the other for another night. Works great! Be careful not to overbake or this dish will dry out!

    Recipe #293589

Found this in a magazine article about the Spanish cheese, Manchego and am posting for ZWT. I loved this new cheese, BF wasn't so sure but he isn't the cheese freak that I am. I don't have a panini press so I use my cast iron grill pan which works great.

    Recipe #292068

Very simple way to dress up roasted carrots. The roasted sort of gives a caramelized sweetness which is accentuated by the honey and is balanced lemon flavor. A bit of cayenne gives it a kick but doesn't overpower.

    Recipe #292064

I recently discovered bulgur and am a total convert! It has fewer calories, less fat, and more than twice the fiber than brown rice. It's a low on the glycemic index and high in folic acid. AND IT COOKS FASTER THAN RICE. So, if all that doesn't convince you, just try this simple recipe. It has a nice nutty flavor and makes a great side dish to pretty much anything.

    Recipe #292063

This was a forgotten recipe in Private Recipes folder. I vaguely remember working on it a year or so ago! I tried it out again this morning, and it's very good if I do say so myself. I use Splenda and low fat ingredients and am posting it that way for the nutritional info, but feel free to use regular ingredients if you desire. This makes two loaves so you can eat one and give one away or freeze for later use. When I made it this morning, I made a loaf and 10 muffins. Because I was using it as a breakfast bread I left out the brown sugar to make it less sweet. For a sweeter, snack type bread, make as written. Hope you enjoy!

    Recipe #291532

Simple side dish that pairs great with more heavily seasoned main dishes.

    Recipe #291422

This part of my Cabernet Chocolate Cake recipe. I am posting separately because the strawberries are so good on their own. Because I usually make this with the cake, I am guessing at the amount of strawberries it would cover. Hope you enjoy!
