    Cornmeal (Cornbread) Mix
    Handle

I found this recipe on Recipe Gold Mine (recipegoldmine.com) after a request from another Zaar member for a cornbread mix similar to Jiffy Brand. This is a do-ahead mix that can make corn muffins, cornmeal biscuits, and cornbread with a few additions. The mix will last for 2-6 months, tightly covered (Tupperware/Ziploc bag) in the fridge.

    Select
    Sherrill's Secret Soft Gingerbread Boys
    Handle

This is cookbook author Nancy Baggett's re-creation of a popular gingerbread cookie sold at a former Capitol Hill landmark eatery, Sherrill's Restaurant and Bakery. The cookies are fragrant with spice, plump and slightly soft, yet not cakey. They are finished with a light, sugary icing that is reminiscent of doughnut glaze. Baker Howard Ward was not willing to part with his original recipe, but several fans of the Sherrill's version have told Baggett that hers is very close to the original. Adapted from her "The All-American Dessert Book".

    Recipe #271800

    Select
    Fudge Walnut Pie
    Handle

It's like creamy, dense, chocolatey fudge in a pie shell. A recipe of my Mothers that I tweaked a little bit and have made in almost every restaurant that I've been in. A favorite of the chocolate crowd, easy to make and lasts 2 weeks in the fridge after baking (but it'll never last that long!).

    Recipe #199902

    Select
Pork Machaca (Tender Pulled Mexican Pork)
    Handle

This is used to make burritos, tacos, or even a Mexican style pot roast. Although it makes a lot, it freezes well; and the broth makes a nice base for posole soup. Quantities are inexact but strict adherence to the recipe is not that crucial; I make this in restaurants and just "go by eye". Props to GaylaJ for shaming me into posting my first recipe here!
