Have a photocopy of a page from a cookbook, unfortunately not sure where it came from. This is what the recipe description says:
"These say Merry Christmas through and through - a special treat made just for you!"
These rum balls made a great gift to family last Christmas, they are definitively worth sharing (plan to do it every year). As with most, these rum balls are best if let mellow for a few days, otherwise the rum flavor is overpowering.
We have had this for Thanksgiving every year since 2001, after seeing chef Todd English make this on a Martha Stewart show. Each slice has some dark and some white meat, as well as the tasty stuffing. The rolled turkey slices wonderfully making perfect sandwiches if any leftovers survive until the next day… We love it! And, balancing the effort and the rewards, it is definitively worth all the work (deboning really isn’t that hard).
A traditional dish in Dalmatian cuisine, this is very easy to make. It makes a perfect side for fish, cooked meat or, my favorite, cured meat such as prosciutto. It can be made more creamy when potatoes are very well cooked, or soupy when more liquid is preserved. On my scale this would be 3.5 Stars (please see how I rate recipes).
