This is a drink recipe I came up with while on a Florida vacation with Barcardi Limon liquor and fruit to work with....The orange really makes it, so don't leave it out...Enjoy

    Recipe #406798

A refreshing drink recipe from my local grocery store holiday cookbook.

    Recipe #491212

This jam is simple to make, and healthy. I have made this once since I found the recipe using dried cherries. I will be trying it next with dried blueberries.

    Recipe #371176

I have no idea where this name came from, but I sure hope they didn't drink all this punch and then go out and shoot guns. Anyway, this makes a huge amount. I wanted to try it out for a party, but have not done so yet, so I am putting on Zaar for safe keeping. I hope someone tries it out. I have no idea how many this serves.

    Recipe #325236

This is a recipe to share with close friends, because it is put together in an ice bucket, and everyone grabs their respective colored straw to use. It is a hit at parties or picnics, as it gets passed around to be shared by all. It was originally made with Gin, but that kicks my bucket, so I use Vodka. The ingredients are layered with ice and fresh mint leaves and it is best if it sits covered for a couple of hours.

    Recipe #321108

I have made this dish over the years to take to BBQ's. It seems to go great as a side dish for a BBQ. I dont know where I got the idea, but I've never seen it prepared by anyone else, so I thought I would share it with zaar. It is really simple and you can add just about as many onions as you like. It always went over very well, but it does have to be kept warm. A pleasant surprise for such simplicity. The servings are approximate.(1st posting,so hope I have it right)

    Recipe #291391

It was like pulling teeth to get this recipe when I first had it at a bunco party. I had never had anything quite like it and I thought it was delicious. The hostess finally gave me the recipe, but I had to keep asking her for it. I'm glad I did. It is very tasty. This also makes a nice presentation. This serves a lot of people.

    Recipe #299575

Great Super Bowl fare. This is delicious and easy to make

    Recipe #486628

A bit of zing with tasty crumb topping. A family favorite.

    Recipe #321607

This was from Prevention- March 1994. You can't go wrong with this flavorful dessert. With only 10% of calories from fat, this recipe is a lifesaver when your sweet-tooth is aching for a treat. I don't know what Zaar will come up with, but here are the stats from Prevention: Serves 8, 156 calories, 1.7 g.fat, 2.1 g.dietary fiber, 5 g. protein, 32.6 g.carbs, 2 g.cholesterol, 80mg.sodium.

This is definately not for the calorie counter. I have not tried this, but am posting it here for safe keeping and I hope to try it soon.Sounds pretty easy and looks like it would make a nice presentation for company. Not really sure about prep time, I guessed 40 min. Then another 30-35 min. to bake.

    Recipe #321347

I am adding this to my cookbook for safekeeping. I have not tried it yet, but will be trying it for an upcoming party. This recipe was originally adapted from Louisiana Real and Rustic Cookbook, by Emeril Lagasse, with Mercelle Bienvenu.

    Recipe #358338

This is the very first cookbook recipe I ever made. My husband gave me Myra Waldo's "Encyclopedia of Cooking" for our first Christmas, and this was the first one I tried. Many of my previous recipes came from grandma's kitchen. This book has been a great friend throughout the years.

    Recipe #328715

This is slightly different from the recipes previously posted. I picked up this recipe years ago on a trip to New Orleans, and have been making it ever since. I misplaced the recipe for awhile, but could pretty much remember it, as I had made it so often over the years. I have since put the recipe in a safe place, but thought I would also put it on Zaar for aditional safe keeping. The recipe starts out by telling a little tale of how red beans and rice came about. "In New Orleans, Monday is the day for red beans and rice, whether you eat it at home or in one of the many small neighborhood restaurants. Why Monday? Some say it's because the ham bone left over from Sunday's dinner could add its rich flavor to Monday's lunch. Others think that when the creole housewife did her Monday wash, she left her pot of red beans to simmer on the stove." Hope you make it your own family favorite... Please note: it is a ham bone with meat on it, not a lb. of ham, but I couldn't get Zaar to understand "ham bone." Also, use sausage of you choice. Sometimes I would use ham pieces or ham hocks instead of the ham bone. As a personal preference, I usually sauteed the onion, celery, garlic and spices, then add the rest of the ingredients.
