This is a healthy dish made with spicy tomato based sauce and fiber rich whole wheat pasta. The original is from "Fitness Magazine" Jan 07. I adjusted it a bit, mainly adding some Worcestershire and a little brown sugar to deepen the flavour a bit. The original also states to use crushed tomatoes however I really love the texture of the diced tomatoes. I have tried putting this same sauce over polenta and it was delicious too!

    Recipe #207391

A quick soup that can go from stove to table in less than half an hour. A regular at my house on weeknights. Many variations can be had by adding different spices and flavours.

    Recipe #186064

Warm and satistfying sandwich that's a little special. cranberry is spicy for some kick. i'm sure this would work equally as well with turkey, chicken just happend to be on sale. enjoy!

    Recipe #185865

This is the dressing that my mom has always used, for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, ofcourse being contrary and wanting something different, I alway pleaded for store-bought salad dressings (and never got them, my mom knew what was healthier), thinking homemade was boring. Now whenever I return home I beg my mom to make lots of salad with this dressing. I really like vinegary salads and if you do too you will definatly enjoy this. Great on romain lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions and homemade croutons. This dressing will keep for up to 5 days in sealed jar in fridge. I was not sure of the quantities of vinegar/oil because we're an "eye out" kind of family but I think this is about right. Add more oil or less vinegar if you don't like it sour like we do.

    Recipe #182865

Ridiciously easy, cheap and healthy. One ingredient! For some flavour I sometimes rub a clove of garlic on the bread before toasting or dust some grated Parmesan cheese on after toasting. Use your imagination.

    Recipe #182864

Easy baked potatoes with a twist. I did them on the bbq but I'm sure they would be just as good done in the oven. I used half yellow potato and half red potato for some color.

    Recipe #178170

I make this on those nights when I want something yummy and wholesome but not time consuming. Although it is in a pita, it's not a good hand-held food. I usually resort to using a knife and fork because it can get pretty messy and hot if it falls apart. I would also like to try this in a tortilla. If you do please tell me how it is!

    Recipe #178111

These are so gooey and delicious straight out of the oven. Definitely not for the calorie conscious but a great treat or party food. Preparation is very easy and is fun for kids and fun to eat too! I'm not sure exactly how much Cheez Whiz to bacon to bread is required, I'm guessing at the amounts.

    Recipe #167802

Very quick and yummy. I don't usually buy sliced cooked deli ham but for this it works really well (the square kind in the package, ie. Schniders). Make lots because these are always a hit.

    Recipe #167800

This is delicious, simple and impressive. I used an inexpensive steak and it still tasted great. Wonderful with a tossed salad or fruit. Feel free to skip the cream cheese and use just goat cheese for a bolder flavour.

    Recipe #167561

This elegant egg dish is sure to impress anyone at a breakfast or brunch. It is very easy and can be embellished with smoked salmon, avacado, red pepper, mushrooms...whatever you may like. (Sometimes I serve this on nights when I don't want to cook but still want something nice and wholesome). Recipe time does not include boiling eggs. ** this is a great way to use up all thoes easter eggs!**

    Recipe #166026

Mom's pancakes made just the way I like them, with no baking powder. For anyone who doesn't like thoes fluffy ones, especially the storebought mix kind. This is so easy it makes me wonder why anyone even buys the mix, with all the preservities. And i'm sure this is cheaper too. This recipe can also be made into crepes if you have a crepe maker or make very thin on the skillet

    Recipe #165215

This is one of my favorite desserts because the colors are so beautiful and the taste amazing. I have still not really perfected the art of putting the glaze over it however but I find if you put lots on there isn't an issue. Be careful the colours don't run together if you are using a type of fruit with juice (ie. defrosted strawberries)

    Recipe #165214

This is from "Quick & Simple" by James Barber and it sure is! I usually make it in a round pie tin, not the baking sheet he recommends. I don't add the black olives because I don't care for them. This was titled as just a focaccia but after PAC with Dwynnie reviewing my recipe she mentioned that it has a bit of a biscut type texture so we came up with a new name. Enjoy!

    Recipe #165212

This hummous is especially good for children although adults seem to love it too! I put hummous on almost everything and this one is especially yummy. Sometimes I add even more apple sauce if I want it sweet.

    Recipe #163387

Soft and cheesy muffins that please everyone. Great in large or small muffin tins or even as a loaf. Delicious to serve to guests in the morning using the leftover mashed potatoes from the night before or to bring for lunch. Best with mashed potatoes that have some texture.

    Recipe #163385

This is one of thoes comfort foods that my mom always made that I now crave being on my own. i guessed on the timing and amounts as I usually just make it off the top of my head.
