This recipe makes a nice looking little meal, from a book titled “Take Three”, but the Chinese broccoli and sesame oil can be omitted to have just the chops! Rather than the broccoli, I’d probably have boy choy instead. Cooking time includes marinading time.

I served this at a Christmas dinner that I co-catered. It went down amazingly well, even the children liked it. We served it with parsley butter (fresh parsley blended in butter) and melba toast and french bread. I can't recommend it highly enough. Cooking time is setting time. Let me know what you think...

If you enjoy the flavour of rhubarb you will love this unusual drink which is especially refreshing on a hot summer’s day. I'm not entirely sure how much this makes.

You can try this to help stave off a cold or to make yourself feel better if you already have one. That may or may not be an old wives’ tales but the toddy certainly tastes good!

This looks so simple and easy. I'm saving the recipe so that I can try it soon. It's from Take Three by Jill Dupleix.

And another from Ainsley Harriott. For an even more adult-friendly jelly, stir in a splash of vodka or orange liqueur. Cooking time is setting time.

Ainsley says that this recipe is inspired by Japan and that it goes well with fried or oily dishes as it's clean and fresh tasting. Cooking time is cooling time.

An Ainsley Harriott recipe. Will add a description when I've tried it. Sounds good though!

Ainsley Harriott says "take them out of the fridge as soon as your guests arrive, so that they return to room temperature, and as you clear the table after the main course, just slip them into the oven for a truly fabulous chocolate treat. You can also use the left over egg whites to make hazelnut meringues. I just put it in small pudding bowls, bake and serve it in them! Saves on the hassle!

Another Ainsley Harriott recipe. He gives it as something to do with leftover egg whites from Recipe #264651. The original recipe says that it takes just over an hour, but I make big meringues which really take closer to three!

I don't know who Clare is but this is another Ainsley recipe. This delicious recipe is perfect when you want a step up from boring old roast vegetables. I just use whatever I have in the fridge and it turns out perfectly. I really recommend this! (Tonight we had it with eggplant, leek and peppers)

These delicious candies are incredibly quick and relatively easy to make if you have some experience with candies. From switching on the oven to popping the tray in the fridge takes less than 25 minutes. I don't have a sugar thermometer, so I do it the old fashioned way ice water. Be careful though, these burn really really easily. Don't stir it, but lift it off the stove from time to time if it starts looking like it's getting too hot. Cooling time not included.

From Country Fair food and crafts. This is another of my Christmas gift basket recipes. There are so many things you can do with this. I use the chocolate and coconut as a base for finishing off whatever bits are left in the kitchen. In the picture are coconut roughs with just coconut, some with added walnuts, some with added candied orange. The chocolate covers everything, so you can't really see the difference, but you can taste it! I haven't done it yet, but assume green and red cherries would be delicious too. Have fun with them, they're so simple.
