This is a recipe I got out of my husband's collection, so I am unsure of its origin. I have made them a few times now and they are so delicious! They remind me of banana muffins somewhat and they are super simple to make! They make a great breakfast or snack.
This is a recipe I got out of a Tastes of Home cookbook and then tweaked to our tastes. They taste just like seasoned potato wedges and would be great served with some ranch or ketchup, but they are a bit more grown up than eating the wedges. They are simple to make and look great too!
This is a recipe from my Tastes of Home Quick Cooking book of 2006. It originally calls for a jar of alfredo sauce, but I am not a fan so I used Recipe #260818 (Lower Fat Alfredo Sauce) and changed the servings to 3 to get a perfect amount. The pasta is wonderful and through my searches on zaar I haven't found one just like it. It is even better paired along with a glass of red wine!
My version of a salad my mom always made for family get togethers. She used pistachio pudding but I am not a big fan so this is how I make it. Its VERY simple and it always gets finished off at a party.
*NOTE* you can get the magic milk mix at the store near the powdered drink mixes like ovaltine, hot chocolate, etc.
These are my own creation, full of flavor and healthier without the butter! As soon as you bite in you get a burst of cherry and banana and they are pretty moist, though firm. I hope you enjoy them! I made half with the coconut on top and half with the pecans and couldn't decide which was better. To get the mandarin orange juice I pureed a can of mandarin oranges (drained of syrup) and just drained them in a sieve. (my son gets the oranges for lunch)
I have been really wanting to come up with my very own recipe and this is it! I spent a lot of time thinking about flavors that I wanted to try together and settled on these as I hadn't seen them paired very often. The base pie recipe is one I have used before and I just tweaked it to suit my ideas. The crust was the way my family has always made them. It is definately not low calorie, but its worth it! I have made it with the ingredients listed and that is my favorite way but I have also opted for all non fat options where I could and it was still great. It has such a delicious texture to it and it isn't super rich or sweet. I really hope you enjoy it! *don't be discouraged by the number of steps it really is simple to make!* You will have some extra of both the pie filling and the coconut filling but I just put them into glasses for a crustless dessert! Plan to make this well ahead of when you wish to serve it as the pie really firms up the second day better.
A delicious, simple, and refreshing drink! I just combined a few things I had around the house for this drink while I was making my son's lunch. It has a pulpy texture to it that makes it seem almost like a smoothie, yet it has that zing to it like a spritzer. For the mandarin orange juice I just used the juice left from when I pureed a large can of mandarin oranges in light syrup (which I first drained) and put through a sieve.
I saw a version of this cake made by Rachel Ray on her 30 minute meals show and decided to try playing around with it at home. I loved how easy this was to put together and it doesn't look bad either! It sure does taste wonderful! I bet you could do all sorts of liqueur and ice cream combos in this or even add just syrups and fruits in it or nuts. Very versatile! Cook time includes freeze time!
This is a delicious magenta colored smoothie that I made up tonight w/ ingredients I had on hand. It turned out quite delicious so I figured I would try sharing. I didn't measure ingredients when mixing so I have estimated them, but I think they are fairly close and I am sure can be played w/ to meet personal tastes. Its also a non-dairy drink which is a bonus! And its very nutritious. Recipe Zaar tries recognizing the pomegranate blueberry juice as just bluberry juice and leaves it out of the nutrition info, but that is where many of the health benefits are.
One day while watching food network I saw a panini made on Paula's Party and it looked absolutely delicious. I searched the recipe and realized I wouldn't be able to find much of the ingredients here. So I decided to try and create my own so to speak with what I could find. A few tries later I settled on this one and I am done searching! It is fabulous! A great blend of flavors! I am not sure how easy it would be to find those meats singularly but I bought them in a gourmet pack in the deli section. I had to name the meats "sausage" so that recipe zaar would recognize them, though I don't know that they are actually a sausage or not. Its more like a salami or pepperoni.
This is another dish my mom made when I was a kid that I just had to get the recipe for. We have had it using deer, elk, and antelope depending on what we had on hand so it can be versatile. You can even use beef I am sure. It is very simple to make as well. Great for those days you don't have a lot of time!
This is a fantastic recipe handed down to me from my family for turning venison into a delicious sausage. It takes a bit of time, but is so worth it and it's a meat you will want to make often. A couple days of work and you will have meat for a good long time.
I searched through the DB and didn't find another like this so I thought I would add it. I got the recipe somewhere online and now I don't remember where. I have made it quite a few times and every time it turns out so delicious! However for those that know more about making cheesecake I seem to always get the stupid crack in the center so if you know any tricks to keeping that from happening please post them. It is a very moist cheesecake so moisture doesn't seem to be the issue. There is a bit of work involved to making this but it is simpler than it looks and oh so worth the effort!
I saw a couple of versions of this delicious salad on here but I had another in my recipes I figured I would add for diversity. I know I have had this salad before but I am not sure which version. This is the one I plan to make though as it seems purely sinful! I bet it would be good with some bananas or maybe some walnuts too!
I was having a late night craving again for something yummy and again I found myself limited in what I had on hand. So I whipped some raspberry sauce up and had it over ice cream... I liked it so much I made it again the next day and poured it over some chocolate chip pancakes! It is very simple to make and not too sweet. The pink lemonade leaves just that hint of something that really adds to the flavor.
One night I really needed a dessert fix and only had a few things on hand. I searched on recipe zaar for a quick easy recipe and saw mention of an eggnog pudding. But it didn't call for eggnog. It instead called for rum extract but I didn't have any. I did have eggnog though so decided to try this.... I was happy I did!
