    I was watching Emeril last night and he made this dessert. It looked so easy and yet made such a beautiful presentation. I haven't made yet, as I think this will require a party to go to! Don't need this much chocolate in the house by myself!

    My father was the cook in the family. Any time we would go out to eat, he would come home and try to make a copy cat version. This is his barbecue sauce. I have never purchased any in the store because none of it comes close to this flavor. Don't let the long list of ingredients scare you. They are standard pantry items.     This is a nice marinade for any fish. I especially like it on salmon or flounder. Perfect for grilling. You can substitue powdered ginger for fresh, if necessary.

    3/18/13. I've updated this recipe to include alternate choices for the canned chicken the original recipe called for. Lately, I've been using store bought rotisserie chicken. I've seen a lot of recipes for broccoli, cheese and rice casseroles. However, this takes it from a side dish to a main meal casserole. It fills up the sink with dirty dishes, but that is the only draw back. You can make umpteen variations to customize the taste to your liking. I will offer substitution possibilities in the instructions.

    This is a recipe that my mom made every Christmas. It's a great alternative to baked fruit cakes and stays moist. Never dry. Tastes very much like the Claxton's fruitcakes that you can buy in the grocery store. I wanted to post this to save and found it as a newspaper clipping in my grandmother's recipe box. My grandmother had pinned it to a card with her cost estimate to make. I don't know how old the recipe is but given that a 1 pd of pecans was listed as 1.05, I assume it's pretty old! Total cost for cake was listed as $3.04. Hope you enjoy! It's been a holiday favorite in our family for years!
