Taken from The Complete Greek Cookbook. According to the author, Theresa Yianilos, you will most likely be served this meat pie on any Greek ship. Note: if using raw meat, use 1 lb and follow directions for raw meat - the ingredients list wouldn't accept both cooked and raw!
Taken from Everything Nordic Cookbook. Blueberries grow wild in my part of the world (northern Wisconsin and the UP) just like they do in Scandinavia. Spelt, a super healthy grain, is found in a lot of Nordic recipes.
I adapted this from another recipe for grilled asparagus. The grill was out of gas, so I decided to try using the oven. I modified the seasonings to reflect my desire to cut the fat content. My company, family and I all loved the results. Enjoy!
I loved this salad whenever my friend's mom made it. She had eaten it in a restaurant, loved it, and asked for the recipe. They gladly gave it to her but she was surprised to see a hefty charge on her next account statement! I was promised and received the recipe for my wedding in 1971 and here it is!
My family thinks that Emily's Lebanese Deli in Minneapolis has the best tabouli. I found this recipe on a blog by MoiFrey (http://diningchezmoi.blogspot.com/2006/08/my-favorite-tabouli-tabouli-is.html) She worked on it for years and claimed to be like Emily's - it's a winner! I use my own method of draining and fluffing the bulgar and the results seem to be just fine. (See blog for original method.)
