The Machine Shed is a comfort food restaurant with huge servings. Whenever we visit Des Moines, IA we always stop! This coleslaw came out of their cookbook and it is every bit as good as what is served in their restaurant. Very sweet and creamy! Cooking time is chill time of 4 hours.
I love pork tenderloin sandwiches and haven't been able to find a good one since I moved away from MO. I found this recipe in a book by Jane and Michael Stern, who ate at Nicks Kitchen in Huntington, Indiana. I don't know whether this recipe is the Sterns' or the restaurant. Either way, it sounds like a keeper!
Time allowed doesn't include the 12-16 hours of soaking.
I finally found this recipe after looking for it for years! I used to make this for my boys on their birthdays but switched to cinnamon rolls after I misplaced the recipe. I top it with re-whipped store bought frosting and mini m&m's. Printed in the winter 1998 issue of Mr. Food's Easycooking and posted here so I won't lose it again!
There are a couple of recipes on here like this, but they include pumpkin. This one doesn't and is quick to throw together. Made this up for family time and it was a hit. Recipe comes from the Gooseberry Patch girls and they suggest serving this on vanilla wafers.
